Lao Cai: Welcoming first graders back to school early

On the morning of August 20, first graders in Lao Cai province started the first day of school for the 2025-2026 school year.

To prepare well for the first day of school 2 weeks earlier than the opening day, the Department of Education and Training of Lao Cai province has directed primary education institutions and localities to prepare well for the first graders to return to school. In the 2025-2026 school year, Lao Cai province will have more than 31,500 first graders.

To create a joyful and exciting atmosphere for students, many schools organize fun collective activities with events such as "Welcoming first graders".

In the first week, first graders will participate in "Group Activity Week", where teachers will guide them to get acquainted with school rules, how to hold a pen, and the correct sitting posture... Teachers have tried to create a friendly, close atmosphere to help students feel interested and interested, thereby helping them adapt well to learning activities in the new environment.

In particular, for ethnic minority students, the school also organizes Vietnamese language enhancement for them before the new school year begins.

The school familiarization period for first graders lasts until September 4.
