(NLDO) - Among the outstanding achievements of Ho Chi Minh City are the contributions and companionship of priests, nuns, and the lay community in many fields.


On the afternoon of January 14, a delegation of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee - People's Council - People's Committee - Fatherland Front Committee visited and extended New Year greetings at the Archbishop's Palace of the Ho Chi Minh City Archdiocese. The delegation was led by Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Phan Van Mai.

Ho Chi Minh City leaders visit and wish Tet

Here, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Phan Van Mai sent his regards and wishes for good health and happiness to Archbishop Joseph Nguyen Nang, Chairman of the Vietnam Bishops' Council, Archbishop of the Ho Chi Minh City Archdiocese. Mr. Phan Van Mai hopes that all work and coordination between the Archdiocese and the Diocese's facilities and local authorities at all levels will always be smooth and supportive of each other to complete the work well in the new year.

The Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee also informed about some outstanding results of Ho Chi Minh City in 2024 and the city's development goals in the coming time. At the same time, he emphasized that among the outstanding results of the city, there are contributions and companionship of priests, monks, and lay communities in many fields.

On the occasion of the traditional New Year of the nation, Mr. Phan Van Mai wished Archbishop Joseph Nguyen Nang, priests, religious and the Catholic community of Ho Chi Minh City a joyful and warm New Year and continued to receive many graces from God. In addition, he sent to Archbishop Joseph Nguyen Nang and the priests, in the coming time, continue to mobilize the Catholic community to contribute more to the development of the city.

In response, Archbishop Joseph Nguyen Nang respectfully thanked Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Phan Van Mai and the delegation for taking the time to visit the Archbishop's Palace of the Ho Chi Minh City Archdiocese. This shows the affection, concern and attachment between the leaders of Ho Chi Minh City and the Archbishop's Palace and the city's Catholic community.

Archbishop Joseph Nguyen Nang also expressed his joy at the achievements that Ho Chi Minh City has achieved in 2024. The Archbishop shared that he and priests, monks, nuns, etc. are often concerned about the city's issues; seeing the determination of Ho Chi Minh City's leaders in socio -economic development.

Archbishop Joseph Nguyen Nang also affirmed that in the coming time, the Catholic community will contribute more to environmental protection, cultural development... for the common development of Ho Chi Minh City and the whole country.
