Party and State leaders meet with representatives of all walks of life

(Chinhphu.vn) - On August 24, in Hanoi, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front held a conference for leaders of the Party, State, and Vietnam Fatherland Front to meet with outstanding representatives of all walks of life on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day September 2.

Attending and chairing the meeting were comrades: President Luong Cuong; Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh. Also attending and chairing were comrades Politburo members: Tran Cam Tu, Standing member of the Secretariat; Do Van Chien, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front; Nguyen Trong Nghia, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Propaganda and Education Commission; Nguyen Xuan Thang, Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, Chairman of the Central Theoretical Council.

Attending the meeting were leaders and former leaders of the Party and State; Central Party Secretaries and Central Party Committee members; leaders of central and local departments, ministries and branches; socio-political organizations, mass organizations and 300 typical delegates from 34 provinces and cities across the country representing all walks of life, ethnic groups, religions, businessmen and typical delegates who are Vietnamese people living abroad.

The conference is an important event, held on the occasion of a major national holiday, demonstrating the attention of the Party, State, and Vietnam Fatherland Front to the great contributions of all classes of people in the cause of national construction and defense.

At the conference, delegates expressed many passionate opinions affirming that the great victories in the struggle for national liberation and unification in the past, as well as the great achievements in the cause of building and defending the Fatherland today, were due to the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam and the great President Ho Chi Minh; the solidarity and unanimity of the entire Party, the entire people, and the entire army. In any period, any moment, there are great lessons about promoting the role and strength of the great national solidarity bloc under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam, turning the potential strength of the people into actual strength, creating all victories of the revolution.

The opinions also expressed absolute trust in the policies of the Party and State, and at the same time expressed recommendations for the Party and State to continue to pay attention to and invest in socio-economic development in disadvantaged areas, mountainous areas, border areas, and islands; train cadres to meet new requirements in implementing two-level local government, including ethnic minority cadres; attract human resources both at home and abroad; continue to perfect policies for overseas Vietnamese, etc.

In particular, opinions suggest that we need to pay close attention to the policy of building great national unity.

Speaking at the meeting, President Luong Cuong pointed out that exactly 80 years ago, under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam and the great President Ho Chi Minh, the entire Vietnamese people rose up to break the chains of slavery and abolish the yoke of colonialism and feudalism.

On September 2, 1945, at the historic Ba Dinh Square, President Ho Chi Minh read the immortal Declaration, solemnly declaring to the entire nation and the world the birth of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam, now the Socialist Republic of Vietnam; and from then on, our country and our people entered a new era - the era of independence, freedom and socialism.

The President emphasized that to achieve great victories in the struggle for national liberation and unification in the past, as well as in the cause of building and defending the Fatherland today, there is a resonance of many factors and one of the particularly important factors is "Solidarity", as beloved Uncle Ho affirmed "people are the root", "A hundred times easier without people, we can endure - A thousand times harder, we can complete with people".

That is a great lesson in promoting the role and strength of the great national unity bloc, taking the Vietnam Fatherland Front as a typical form of organization, widely gathering all patriotic forces, turning the potential strength of the people into actual strength, creating all victories of the revolution.

The President affirmed that under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam, the Vietnam Fatherland Front always plays a core political role, is a common home that gathers and unites social classes, ethnic groups, religions, and Vietnamese people at home and abroad, creating the invincible strength of the great national unity bloc.

Our Party, State and people deeply appreciate and acknowledge the great contributions of all social classes, organizations, individuals, businessmen, and Vietnamese people at home and abroad; in which, the working class, farmers, and intellectuals, under the leadership of the Party, have formed the worker-farmer-intellectual alliance, which is a solid political and social foundation and pillar of the great national unity bloc.

In the joyful atmosphere of the historic August days, the entire Party, people and army all look forward to the great occasion, celebrating the 80th anniversary of National Day September 2, the President was moved to remember and be grateful for the immense merit of beloved Uncle Ho - who devoted his whole life to the people and nation of Vietnam; forever remembering the noble sacrifices and great contributions of the previous leaders, heroic martyrs, heroic Vietnamese mothers, heroes of the People's Armed Forces, heroes of Labor, comrades with invalids and sick soldiers, people from all walks of life, ethnic groups, religions, businessmen and overseas Vietnamese in the revolutionary cause of national liberation, gaining independence, building and defending the socialist Fatherland of Vietnam.

Affirming that every victory of the nation originates from the strength of great solidarity, unanimity, and unceasing dedication of all classes of people under the wise leadership of the Party, the President said that entering a new era, facing great opportunities and fortunes, but also full of challenges, it is necessary to promote more strongly the spirit of patriotism, intelligence, and aspiration to rise of the entire nation, continue to honor, spread, and promote the great role of the working class, farmers, intellectuals, people of all ethnic groups, religions, businessmen and overseas Vietnamese in the cause of building a rich, prosperous, civilized and happy country.

In the context that the entire Party, people and army are striving to overcome all difficulties and challenges, taking advantage of all opportunities and chances, confidently entering a new era - an era of strong, prosperous and happy development of the Vietnamese people, the President said that we are resolutely implementing three strategic breakthroughs: Regarding institutions; on training high-quality human resources; on building modern and synchronous infrastructure and at the same time focusing on implementing the revolution of streamlining, improving the quality, effectiveness and efficiency of the apparatus in the political system; organizing the implementation of the two-level local government model and synchronously implementing breakthroughs in science - technology development, innovation and national digital transformation; promoting comprehensive and extensive international integration; making breakthroughs in law making and enforcement; developing the private economy, considering the private economy as the most important driving force of the national economy.

The President emphasized that, in that journey, the lessons of patriotism, revolutionary spirit, solidarity and dedication of previous generations still hold true today and tomorrow. With a steadfast revolutionary spirit, experience, steadfast political will and high prestige that have been forged over the years, typical representatives of all walks of life will be shining examples, continuing to contribute their enthusiasm, intelligence and experience to the cause of building and firmly defending the Vietnamese Fatherland.

The President requested the Vietnam Fatherland Front to continue to promote its core political role in building and consolidating the invincible strength of the great national unity bloc; constantly innovate the content and methods of operation to gather, rally, and widely unite all classes of people, compatriots of all ethnic groups, religions, businessmen, and overseas Vietnamese; strongly arouse patriotism, self-reliance, and development aspirations, build trust, and create social consensus; promote the intelligence, resources, and role of the people in the cause of national construction and defense. The Vietnam Fatherland Front at all levels needs to be more proactive and creative in promoting the role and intelligence of typical collectives and individuals from all walks of life, ethnic and religious compatriots, businessmen and overseas Vietnamese, contributing to educating traditions, fostering revolutionary ideals and arousing the aspirations of the young generation to contribute to the glorious revolutionary cause of the nation in the new era.

On this occasion, to recognize and encourage typical examples contributing to building the great national unity bloc, the leaders of the Party, State and Vietnam Fatherland Front presented gifts to typical delegates.
