Mr. Bui Quoc Hoan - Deputy General Director of EVNSPC said that along with the task of ensuring stable, safe and continuous power supply for socio -economic development and people's lives in the management area, EVNSPC always identifies social responsibility as an important part of the Corporation's sustainable development strategy.
Every year, EVNSPC and its member units devote significant resources to implementing community programs such as: Supporting the construction of gratitude houses, solidarity houses, awarding scholarships to poor students who overcome difficulties; giving gifts to poor households, policy families, etc.
In particular, on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of construction and development (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025), in order to respond to the movement to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses launched by the Government in a practical and effective manner , EVNSPC has spent the entire amount of 18.9 billion VND saved from not organizing celebration activities and founding anniversary ceremonies to support the southern provinces to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses with 315 houses (60 million VND/house).
EVNSPC hopes that the new, solid houses completed and handed over right before the rainy season will help households feel more secure in their lives, and at the same time have more confidence and determination to overcome all difficulties, actively work in production, rise out of poverty, and contribute to the overall development of the locality, Mr. Bui Quoc Hoan shared.
In addition to the 315 completed houses supported for construction, EVNSPC is continuing to mobilize funding from other sources to support the construction of 500 more houses for poor households and households with housing difficulties with a total cost of 30 billion VND - Photo: VGP/MT
As one of the households supported by EVNSPC to build a house, Mr. Le Anh Thuong (Cang Long commune, Vinh Long province) expressed his gratitude: "Before, life was difficult, the dream of having a house to protect the family from the rain and wind seemed impossible. With the support of the local government and the Southern Electricity industry to build a house, my wife and I were very happy. Now that we have received the house right before the rainy season, my family is at ease, no longer worried... We will try to preserve the house carefully, stabilize our lives, and rise out of poverty."
Ms. Tran Ngoc Lay, Dong Loi Hamlet, Dong Thuan Commune, Can Tho City, said that her husband had passed away and life was very difficult, so even though the old house was dilapidated, she still did not have the conditions to renovate or rebuild it. Now, with the help and support of the Southern Electricity Industry and local authorities at all levels, the house has been built spacious and solidly. "My children and I are very happy! Thank you to the authorities at all levels, thank you very much to the Electricity Industry. I will work hard, try to improve my life and protect and take good care of the house," Ms. Lay shared.
The supported Great Solidarity Houses, although not of high value, contain the affection and care of the Party, State, and authorities at all levels; at the same time, they demonstrate the hearts and feelings of sharing of organizations, businesses, and philanthropists for poor households, near-poor households, and households with difficult housing circumstances to add strength, motivate, and encourage poor households and near-poor households to enthusiastically work and produce, to be self-reliant and escape poverty to build a prosperous and happy life .
In addition to the 315 completed houses supported for construction, EVNSPC is continuing to mobilize funding from other sources to support the construction of 500 more houses for poor households and households with housing difficulties with a total cost of 30 billion VND, continuing to accompany localities in implementing the Program to Eliminate Temporary and Dilapidated Houses launched by the Government.
