LAM VY DA: From "New Smile" to the political stage

When the laughter still echoed on the stage of "New Smile" more than 10 years ago, no one expected that the young actress Lam Vy Da with her sharp eyes, charming smile and very real humorous style would one day stand solemnly on the stage of Ho Guom Theater, receiving the gold medal (HCV) at the National Professional Art Theater Festival on "Image of the People's Public Security Soldier" for the 5th time - 2025.

Coming from the stage "New Smile" - where the late artist Huu Loc once put his full trust in the young actors, Lam Vy Da was supported by the comedian NSUT Hoai Linh and gradually affirmed her own mark with fresh energy. Many roles in high-grossing comedy plays have had the participation of Lam Vy Da, with her authentic acting style and rare charming comedic instinct.

Not stopping at the stage, Lam Vy Da quickly became a name that appeared in a series of famous game shows and reality TV shows from "Oh my god! You're here", "7 spring smiles", to other comedy shows, the most impressive of which is "Tao Quan - Meet at the end of the year" on VTV3.

In June 2025, Lam Vy Da was mentioned a lot in the press and media, but not in comedy shows, but in the role of Doctor Hoa - a strong and emotional protagonist in the play "Another War" (author Tong Phuong Dung, director Meritorious Artist Le Nguyen Dat, art advisor People's Artist Hong Van), staged at Hong Van Drama Theater.

Doctor Hoa is the image of a brave woman who faces danger to expose a criminal network that smuggles special medicine from the hospital to the black market. She accompanies her husband - police officer Kien (played by Minh Luan, who also won a gold medal) - to contribute to the destruction of crime and protect the lives of patients.

Lam Vy Da is no longer the familiar "comedic Da". On the dramatic stage, she is a woman willing to risk her life to protect justice. From her sincere, emotional dialogue, to the way she plays the role, maintains her inner rhythm, and transforms from her inner thoughts to her external dramatic actions, her acting has won over the audience.

Committed to the profession

At the closing ceremony and award ceremony of the 5th National Professional Art Festival on "Image of the People's Public Security Soldier" - 2025, when her name was called in the individual Gold Medal category, Lam Vy Da could not hide her emotions:

"I didn't think I could reach that far, and even less dare to dream of one day standing on the stage of Ho Guom Theater, receiving a gold medal for a political role. I thank People's Artist Hong Van, who placed her trust in me, thank director Meritorious Artist Le Nguyen Dat, author Tong Phuong Dung and the entire crew. Without them, there would be no doctor Hoa, and no gold medal today" - Lam Vy Da shared.

At that moment, Lam Vy Da did not forget to express her feelings for the Mai Vang Award - the place that recognized her journey from the early days of her career in art: "I am truly grateful to the readers and audiences of Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper for loving, trusting and voting for me. It is an honor that I always cherish.
