Kiev withdraws troops to restore combat effectiveness due to heavy losses, loss of a large number of armored vehicles in Zaporizhzhia province

The Russian Defense Ministry said on September 29 that the Armed Forces of Ukraine (VSU) suffered heavy losses in the counterattack and although this was not recognized by Kiev, this was not the first time that some VSU brigades were withdrawn to the rear to restore combat effectiveness.

According to the Russian Defense Ministry, the VSU General Staff was forced to withdraw the 47th Motorized Rifle Brigade, which participated in the offensive in the Orekhovsky area, to the rear for the third time due to heavy losses and soldiers refusing to participate in the battle.

Over the past few weeks, the brigade has been actively operating in the Rabotino-Verbovoe direction in the Zaporizhzhia region. Now almost all the VSU brigades that were sent to attack in the Zaporizhzhia direction have been withdrawn to the rear for reinforcement. These include the 82nd Air Assault Brigade, the 46th Airborne Brigade, and even the 71st Light Infantry Brigade, which entered the battle a few weeks ago.

Meanwhile, on the same day, September 29, Russian military networks reported that videos showed major losses of the VSU in the Verbovoy area of Zaporizhzhia province.

According to preliminary information, more than 40 Ukrainian armored vehicles were destroyed in the area shown in the video , including the British Challenger 2 main battle tank. Such losses suggest that almost an entire VSU battalion may have been eliminated from combat on this front.

Earlier, on September 29, RIA Novosti quoted sources as saying that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky had agreed with the US and UK on a new VSU offensive. The offensive will take place in the Kherson and Zaporizhzhia directions. The expected time is early October.
