In just 8 years, the Regiment trained 113 battalions with over 72,000 officers and soldiers from the 5 provinces of Quang Ninh, Hai Phong, Hai Duong, Thai Binh , and Hung Yen. It was this force that contributed greatly to the great victory of the Spring of 1975, liberating the South and unifying the country.

The two battalions of Cat Bi and Hai Da were awarded the title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces. Over 20,000 soldiers heroically sacrificed their lives, many of whom have yet to be buried. The Red Cross Association - Veterans of the 5th Yen Tu Regiment had the idea of building a memorial right at the place where the Regiment was stationed in the past, now Nam Mau village, Thuong Yen Cong commune.

In particular, the Temple consists of 3 buildings with an area of 600m2, with a space to worship President Ho Chi Minh, General Vo Nguyen Giap; separate altars for heroic martyrs of 5 provinces and cities, Cat Bi Battalion, Hai Da Battalion. In addition to the Temple, in the project area there are also Ho Quoc Pagoda, Ancestral Temple, Mau Temple... At the same time, it places a great responsibility on the local government and people in preserving, embellishing and promoting the value of the relic.
