From July 1, An Thi commune has just come into operation. Quang Vinh commune is one of the three current communes of An Thi district that have been arranged into the new An Thi commune. Quang Vinh commune health station (currently under An Thi district health center) was transferred to the new commune. However, health care activities at the station are still taking place normally. Doctor Nguyen Xuan Xuyen, Head of Quang Vinh Commune Health Station, said: Primary health care activities for the people are still organized regularly every day. Medical staff and employees work and are on duty according to regulations. Currently, the station is implementing community health care programs for patients with mental illness, epilepsy, tuberculosis and HIV. Every month, regular treatment drugs for mental illness and tuberculosis patients are provided from An Thi District Health Center and Hung Yen Tropical Diseases Hospital. The station has received enough medicine for July to provide to patients for the month.
To proactively ensure drugs for treatment at medical units, the Department of Health has conducted drug bidding in 2025. The Department also directed hospitals and district medical centers to proactively review, self-purchase, and bid for small packages while waiting for the results of the Department of Health's centralized bidding.
Doctor Nguyen Huu Nam, Director of Khoai Chau District Medical Center, said: Before April 21, 2025, some groups of drugs ran out before the end of the drug supply contract period of the contractors. The center proactively purchased 20% more drugs than the signed contract to ensure drugs for treatment. In addition, the center organized bidding for some medical consumables and testing chemicals to ensure smooth medical examination and treatment activities at the center.
According to Official Dispatch No. 1960/UBND-NC, dated June 20, 2025 of the Provincial People's Committee on the plan to arrange public service units under the district-level People's Committee, transfer medical centers under the district-level People's Committee to the Department of Health and transfer medical stations to the commune-level People's Committee. In the immediate future, the current number of medical stations will be maintained. After the two-level local government model is put into stable operation, the medical stations of the old communes will be reorganized into a medical station at the new commune level and there will be medical points in the old communes to serve the people...
For general and specialized hospitals at the provincial level, which receive, examine, and treat thousands of patients every day, they have proactively purchased and bid for biological products, chemicals, and medical supplies to ensure uninterrupted provision of medical services when merging Hung Yen and Thai Binh provinces and implementing the two-level local government model.
Dr. Hoang Van Chung, Deputy Director of the Provincial General Hospital, said that the hospital's examination and treatment activities are not affected by the merger policy. The procedures for medical examination and treatment have not changed, and there is no additional inconvenience for patients. The hospital will arrange human resources, medicine, and medical supplies in case there are more patients after the province's merger.
