Over the past 5 years, the socio-economic picture of Dao Tru has improved significantly, the economic structure has shifted strongly in the right direction, gradually reducing the proportion of agriculture , gradually increasing the proportion of small-scale industry, construction, services, trade and tourism; gradually exploiting and promoting the potential and advantages of the locality. Up to now, the proportion of agricultural, forestry and fishery production value accounts for 50.9%; small-scale industry and construction account for 25.98%; services, trade and tourism account for 23.12%. People's lives continue to improve, the poverty rate has decreased to 1.15%, down 4.13% compared to the beginning of the term; average income per capita reached more than 55 million VND/year, exceeding the set target.
Comrade Luu Xuan Nam, Vice Chairman of Dao Tru Commune People's Committee, said: The economic restructuring of the commune in recent times demonstrates the sensitivity in development orientation, and also reflects the results of coordination and support from the province's economic development mechanisms and policies as well as the dynamism and active innovation in production and business methods of the people.
In economic development, Dao Tru commune has many reasonable and correct policies suitable to the actual conditions of the locality. The commune directs the people to promote the restructuring of crops and livestock, bringing high-value seedlings into production. Focusing on the application of scientific and technical advances in production, strengthening the prevention of pests and diseases for crops and livestock. The output of grain crops reaches more than 23,800 tons/year; specialized models of green squash, chili, and medicinal herbs are developed. Livestock is maintained and developed in a concentrated and industrial direction. Currently, the total number of livestock and poultry in the commune is more than 241 thousand. In addition, many models of perennial crop planting combined with livestock and poultry farming... have initially brought about clear economic efficiency.
Promoting the strengths of land, labor, and traditional occupations, Dao Tru has encouraged economic sectors to invest resources to promote the development of small-scale industry, trade, services, tourism, etc. Many models and occupations such as carpentry, welding, mechanics, construction materials, wood processing, milling, etc. have been replicated, expanding the scale of production and business, contributing to solving jobs for many local workers, increasing income for workers and the local budget. The total value of industrial production - small-scale industry, trade, services, and tourism in the whole commune in the period of 2020 - 2025 is estimated at 2,454 billion VND.

Along with promoting economic development, Dao Tru commune promotes consulting, job introduction and labor export activities. The rate of trained laborers in Dao Tru reaches 38%; more than 4,000 laborers are working in industrial parks and clusters in and outside the province.
In building a model new rural area, the locality especially values and promotes the role of the people as the main subject, implementing the motto "people know, people discuss, people do, people inspect, people benefit". During the term, the total resources mobilized for new rural area construction in the whole commune reached more than 250 billion VND; of which the state budget capital accounted for about 65%, the rest was socialized sources, contributions of working days, land and property of the people. There were 60 households voluntarily donating land to expand roads, with a total area of thousands of square meters of residential land and production land, creating favorable conditions for rural planning and embellishment. Up to now, the commune has 2 model cultural villages, namely Luc Lieu village and Dong Pheo village.
Environmental protection and rural landscape beautification are regularly paid attention to; villages maintain the movement of “Bright, green, clean, beautiful”. The system of trees and flower roads is expanded; centralized landfills are planned reasonably; collection, classification and treatment of household waste are in accordance with regulations.
Dao Tru is interested in reinvesting in technical infrastructure systems such as electricity, roads, schools, stations, village cultural houses... to meet the needs of people for travel, study, health care, entertainment. Material and spiritual life is improved, creating an exciting atmosphere, promoting patriotic emulation movements, joining hands to build a rich and strong homeland.
With the spirit of solidarity, unity and creativity, the Party Committee and People of Dao Tru have gradually exploited the potential and strengths of the locality to successfully implement the socio-economic goals set for the 2020 - 2025 term. This will be the driving force and solid foundation for the cadres, party members and people of Dao Tru commune to confidently enter the new term 2025 - 2030 with the tasks and goals: Effectively exploiting local potential and advantages, developing agriculture in the direction of goods, associated with the application of science and technology as the focus, eco-tourism as a breakthrough, creating momentum and strength for Dao Tru to develop quickly and sustainably.
