In Chan May - Lang Co commune, Hue City People's Committee held a groundbreaking ceremony for the project of technical infrastructure for resettlement areas in Chan May - Lang Co area, Hue city to serve the high-speed railway project on the North - South axis, Loc Tien resettlement area (phase 2). Attending the groundbreaking ceremony were Mr. Le Truong Luu, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Council, Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Hue City; Nguyen Van Phuong, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the Hue City People's Committee; comrades in the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, leaders of the People's Council, People's Committee, Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hue City.

Technical infrastructure project for resettlement areas in Chan May - Lang Co area, Hue city serving the high-speed railway project on the North - South axis, Loc Tien resettlement area (phase 2) has an area of 12.65 hectares, total investment capital of 251,047 billion VND invested by the Management Board of Investment and Construction Projects of Economic and Industrial Zones, started construction on August 19, 2025. The project includes investment items such as: Leveling the ground, marking plots; traffic system; drainage system; water supply system; power supply system; lighting system. The project arranges 238 resettlement plots, aiming to resettle households affected by site clearance when implementing the high-speed railway project on the North - South axis in Chan May - Lang Co commune.

Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony, Vice Chairman of Hue City People's Committee Hoang Hai Minh emphasized that the North-South high-speed railway project is a national key transport project, of strategic significance to the country's development, opening up breakthrough opportunities for localities, including Hue City.

This is a project approved by the National Assembly in Resolution No. 172/2024/QH15 dated November 30, 2024. The project section through Hue City is about 95.05 km long, starting point in Phong Dinh ward, bordering Nam Hai Lang commune, Quang Tri province; ending point in Chan May - Lang Co commune, bordering Hai Van ward, Da Nang city. The project passes through 12 communes and wards (Phong Dinh, Phong Thai, Dan Dien, Quang Dien, Hoa Chau, Duong No, My Thuong, Phu Ho, Phu Vang, Vinh Loc, Phu Loc, Chan May - Lang Co); the area of influence is about 1,255.27 hectares of land, about 8,558 households, of which about 1,600 households will have to arrange resettlement land, the number of tombs to be relocated is about 10,572 tombs. To serve the site clearance work for the project, the City People's Committee will build 23 resettlement areas and 4 cemeteries with an estimated cost of about 1,389 billion VND.

The leaders of the City People's Committee requested the investor and contractors to carry out the project on schedule, with quality, aesthetics, safety, and full compliance with the regulations of the State and the City in investment and construction management. The City People's Committee will continue to direct relevant departments to coordinate closely, ensuring the project is implemented quickly and effectively, and the resettlement areas are completed soon, helping people to settle down and stabilize their lives quickly.

In Phong Thai Ward , the Project Management Board for Investment and Construction of Area 2 held a groundbreaking ceremony for the Phong Hien People's Cemetery. Attending the ceremony were Mr. Pham Duc Tien, Standing Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee; Member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Chi Tai, as well as leaders of the National Assembly Delegation and representatives of departments, branches, and local authorities.

The project covers an area of 2.5 hectares, with approximately 531 reburial plots, with a total investment of more than 9 billion VND. The project includes an internal traffic system of nearly 3km long (including 7 main, secondary and branch routes) with concrete pavement, drainage infrastructure, leveling, curbs, median strips and plot markers... ensuring uniformity and sustainability. When completed, Phong Hien People's Cemetery will become a solemn space, convenient for people to perform spiritual rituals and contribute to effectively serving the relocation and site clearance work for the North-South high-speed railway project.

Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony, Member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Chi Tai emphasized: The project is of special importance in creating a centralized cemetery land fund, ensuring the harmony of interests of the State and the People, and at the same time demonstrating the attention of all levels and sectors to the spiritual life of the community. Therefore, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Chi Tai requested the Project Management Board of Area 2 - the investor to closely coordinate with the construction and supervision units and local authorities to organize the construction according to the design, ensuring quality, progress, safety, and environmental sanitation, contributing significantly to the work of site clearance, creating a premise for the implementation of the North - South high-speed railway project in the northern part of the city.

In Phu Vang commune, the Management Board of Investment and Construction Projects of Area 3 held a groundbreaking ceremony for the Resettlement Area No. 1 Construction Investment Project in the commune. Attending were members of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee: Nguyen Quang Tuan, Permanent Vice Chairman of the City People's Council; Phan Xuan Toan, Head of the Organization Board of the City Party Committee; Mr. Phan Quy Phuong, Member of the Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee.

Resettlement Area No. 1 (Phu Da) in Phu Vang Commune is one of 23 resettlement areas serving the high-speed railway project on the North-South axis passing through Hue City, which has been decided by the National Assembly on investment policy according to Resolution No. 172/2024/QH15 dated November 30, 2024; has important significance for the locality, gradually completing the infrastructure system, especially to serve the resettlement of households affected by site clearance when implementing the high-speed railway project on the North-South axis passing through Phu Vang Commune.

The project covers an area of nearly 5 hectares, with 89 resettlement plots. The total investment is about 44 billion VND. The construction package will be completed within a maximum of 7 months from the start date, with funding from the central budget.

Speaking at the ceremony, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Phan Quy Phuong emphasized: Hue City always aims to ensure that people's lives after relocation must be better than or equal to their old place of residence. Therefore, resettlement areas and cemeteries will be planned and invested in synchronously in technical and social infrastructure, including roads, electricity, water, education, health care, etc. to create the most favorable conditions for people to soon stabilize their lives and develop the economy.

The resettlement area No. 1 project in Phu Vang commune in particular and the projects starting today are not only land plots and construction works, but also evidence of the deep concern of the Party, the State, and the city government for the lives of the people. This is also a symbol of the spirit of consensus and sacrifice for the common good of the people of Hue city.

In Vy Da ward, the City People's Committee organized the groundbreaking ceremony of the Technical Infrastructure Project for Resettlement Area 06 in Area B - An Van Duong New Urban Area , serving the relocation and resettlement of households affected by the high-speed railway project on the North - South axis.

Attending the groundbreaking ceremony were members of the City Party Committee: Hoang Khanh Hung, Head of the City Party Committee's Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission; Pham Thi Minh Hue, Head of the City Party Committee's Inspection Commission; Nguyen Thanh Binh, Permanent Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee; Phan Thien Dinh, Head of the City People's Council's Economic - Budget Commission, and representatives of relevant departments and branches.

Resettlement Area 06 project is invested by the Project Management Board of Investment and Construction of Area 1, with an area of 2.5 hectares, total investment of 38,992 billion VND, the goal is to form a synchronous resettlement fund, ready to hand over to people according to the site clearance progress. Resettlement Area 06 will arrange about 74 resettlement plots for households directly affected.

The unit directly executing the project is the Joint Venture of Thua Thien Hue Road Management and Construction Joint Stock Company and Thanh An Joint Stock Company. The two units have fully prepared human resources and machinery, and are committed to completing the project on schedule.

Resettlement Area 06 is designed with synchronous traffic, electricity, water, lighting, trees, and convenient connection with essential services in the new urban area. When completed, the project will not only solve the problem of stable and safe housing for people, but also contribute to completing the infrastructure in the Southeast of the city, creating space for urban development in a civilized and modern direction.

Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Binh, member of the City Party Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Hue City People's Committee emphasized: The North-South high-speed railway project through Hue City is a national key project, of great significance in socio-economic development, ensuring social security and improving people's lives.

The groundbreaking ceremony of the technical infrastructure of resettlement area 06 in Zone B - An Van Duong New Urban Area is a pioneering step, of special significance in the work of site clearance for the project. This is not only the responsibility of the government towards the people in the affected area, but also a key condition to ensure progress according to the commitment with the Government.

The Standing Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee requested investors, construction units and local authorities to focus resources and coordinate closely to speed up construction progress, ensuring the project is synchronous, urgent and in accordance with regulations. The project must meet requirements on quality, technique and safety, and at the same time arrange stable and long-term resettlement, creating conditions for people to live in peace and stabilize their livelihoods. When completed, the project will not only solve the need for stable and safe housing for affected people, but also contribute to completing the urban infrastructure in the Southeast of the city, creating space for urban space development in a civilized and modern direction.
