Khanh Hoa: Verifying the man holding a rock to block a car on the highway

On the afternoon of June 13, a representative of Highway Traffic Control Patrol Team No. 6 (Traffic Police Department, Ministry of Public Security) said that they had received information about an incident in which a man was holding a rock to block a car on the Van Phong - Nha Trang highway (Khanh Hoa province).

On the same morning, a clip over 1 minute long was circulated on Facebook, showing a man holding a rock in both hands, blocking a car on the highway.

Mr. L. - the person who shared the clip above - said the incident happened at around 7:30 a.m. on June 13. At that time, the 16-seat car was carrying 10 passengers at high speed in the North-South direction.

When the car reached the section passing through Van Phu commune (Van Ninh district), the driver discovered from afar a person wandering on the highway. This person held a rock in both hands, his face distorted, standing in front of the car.

"I gave him 10,000 VND but he said it was too little. Taking advantage of the moment when he stood up from the front of the car, I drove away," Mr. L. recounted. In addition to holding the rock, the man also held something that looked like a 50,000 VND bill.

Currently, the authorities are working with this man.

The Van Phong - Nha Trang Expressway is over 83km long, located entirely in Khanh Hoa province, with 70km put into use in mid-April 2025; the remaining 13km (first section of the route) is expected to be completed by the end of June.
