Affirming Vietnam's pioneering role in world economic development

The fact that the Prime Minister of Vietnam was invited twice to attend the annual conference of the World Economic Forum (WEF) Pioneers in China demonstrates Vietnam's important role at this international forum, and at the same time shows its prominent priority position in China's diplomatic layout. This is the affirmation of Professor Hua Liping, Director of the Southeast Asia Research Center of the Institute for Global and Asia- Pacific Strategic Studies (CASS), Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, when answering an interview with a reporter from the People's Daily in China about Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh's trip to attend the WEF in Dalian and work in China. According to Mr. Hua Liping, the fact that the head of the Vietnamese Government attended the annual conference of the World Economic Forum (WEF) Pioneers in China demonstrated Vietnam's extremely important leading role in the world economy, or in other words, Vietnam plays the role of a "pioneer" in global economic development. Citing Vietnam's economic growth of over 5% in 2023 and forecast to reach 6-6.5% this year, Professor Hua Loi Binh assessed that Vietnam has maintained a very outstanding growth rate, at a high level among emerging economies in the Asian region, contributing to the overall growth of Asia-Pacific and the world, showing the potential and development momentum of the Vietnamese economy in the future, bringing stronger confidence in the context of global economic recovery. Regarding the speech of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh at this year's WEF Dalian Forum, Professor Hua Loi Binh commented that the speech outlined 3 key factors that have strong impacts and influences and 3 pioneering fields that shape and lead the world today, demonstrating the Vietnamese leader's very accurate assessments of the development of the world economy, especially the contents of digital economic development, green economy, human resource development with convincing evidence, bringing "Vietnamese solutions" for the future development of the world. Expressing his appreciation for Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh's proposals on building and perfecting market economic institutions, mobilizing and effectively using all resources, improving the effectiveness of national governance; assisting and supporting resources, focusing on developing strategic infrastructure systems such as transport infrastructure, responding to climate change, healthcare infrastructure, etc.; The Chinese scholar believes that the transfer of advanced technology and the priority given to training and human resource development are the keys to solving the problem of growth and development, especially for emerging economies in Asia. “The proposals of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh have positive significance, contributing constructively to the recovery and development of the global economy, especially emerging economies in Asia. We also appreciate Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh's comments on the contributions and efforts of China to the development of the world economy. This demonstrates the high level of strategic trust between China and Vietnam,” Professor Hua Loi Binh emphasized.
