On the 8th and 9th days of Tet (Saturday, Sunday, February 17 and 18), the Vietnam Museum of Ethnology in collaboration with the Hoi An Center for Culture - Sports and Radio - Television organized the program "Happy Spring of the Year of the Dragon: Cultural nuances of Hoi An" to create opportunities for the public to explore the traditional Tet and cultural heritage of Hoi An.

All these activities will be performed by 40 children of Hoi An in this year's program.

This year's special program includes Hoi An Night: Light up the heritage, which will be open free of charge from 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. on the 8th and 9th of Tet.

This activity creates an opportunity for the public to explore folk arts and traditional crafts associated with Hoi An ancient town.

The traditional tug of war game is always attractive to children.

The space of Hoi An ancient town is recreated in the bright lantern light with images of artisans making pottery, carpentry, lanterns, and bamboo statues. Those who love activities can participate in the game of hiding and smashing pots, calling out cards, practicing folk songs, etc.

"Hoi An Night: Light up the heritage" is open free of charge from 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. on the 8th and 9th of Tet.

In addition, young people have the opportunity to learn about the traditional Tet and culture of Hoi An with the support of technology through interactive screen experiences and dragon drawing contests to discover the children of the dragon,...

Young people will have impressive check-in photos in the ancient town of Hoi An right in the heart of Hanoi .

In addition, there are also activities such as Dong Ho painting printing instruction by artisans in Bac Ninh, calligraphy writing by teachers from Hanoi. Funny puppet shows by artisans of Dong Ngu puppetry troupe are also performed on this occasion.

In addition, children participated in many folk games of ethnic groups such as: sack jumping, carrying rice across the bridge, tug of war, walking on stilts, dragon dancing, bamboo dancing, throwing con, throwing pao, pushing sticks, playing badminton, playing mat,... at the Folk Architecture Garden.

Visitors also have the opportunity to enjoy Muong culinary flavors with local specialties in Muong cultural space.

In early spring, Hoi An cultural experience attracts many people from the capital to attend.

 

A new feature of this program is the application of technology in exploiting and exploring traditional cultural heritage. The public has the opportunity to participate in the Joyful Gifts to Discover the Meaning of Tet; QR Tour: Discovering the Dragon Tet in the Museum's exhibition space; Dragon Painting Contest and Discovering the Dragon's Children,....

Ms. Truong Thi Ngoc Cam, Director of the Center for Culture - Sports and Radio - Television of Hoi An city shared: “This is a good opportunity for Hoi An people to introduce their cultural heritage directly to the public in the capital. Through practical activities, it contributes to affirming folk art in Hoi An's journey to join the UNESCO Creative Cities Network, while promoting and introducing the image of Hoi An to a large number of Vietnamese and international tourists”.
