Opening of A80 Press Center: Workplace for 1,500 Vietnamese and international journalists

On the afternoon of August 26, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism held the opening ceremony of the Press and Propaganda Center "Celebrating the 80th Anniversary of the Successful August Revolution (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2025), National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025)" (Task A80).

Comrade Nguyen Trong Nghia, Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Propaganda and Education Commission, Permanent Deputy Head of the Central Steering Committee for the celebration of major holidays and important events of the country in the three years 2023-2025 attended the opening ceremony.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Permanent Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Le Hai Binh emphasized that 80 years ago, on September 2, 1945, at the historic Ba Dinh Square, President Ho Chi Minh read the Declaration of Independence, giving birth to the Democratic Republic of Vietnam, now the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.

This is a momentous event, opening a new era for the Vietnamese people - the Era of Independence - Freedom and Happiness. Over the past 80 years, under the wise leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam, we have gone through struggles for independence, unification, and transitioned from a subsidy mechanism to economic reform and international integration.

Currently, Vietnam has achieved many outstanding achievements, with stable economic growth at an average high level, attracting strong foreign direct investment and strongly developing production for export...

The 80th anniversary of National Day September 2 is a special and important event of the country, an opportunity for us to review the heroic history, educate the tradition of patriotism, the spirit of great solidarity, the desire for peace, the will of self-reliance, self-reliance, self-respect, and national pride; express deep gratitude to the generations who sacrificed their blood for national independence and unification; affirm the determination of the entire Party, people and army in the cause of building and defending the socialist Vietnamese Fatherland.

In addition, information and press work will also contribute to arousing and fostering people's trust and pride in the Party, the State and the cause of national renewal, creating unity within the Party, social consensus to effectively implement the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws; encouraging and motivating cadres, party members and people to overcome all difficulties and challenges, seize opportunities, and be determined to complete the goals and tasks of the Party Congresses at all levels for the 2020-2025 term, the 13th National Party Congress and the Central Committee's Resolutions, bringing the country into a new era - an era of strong and prosperous development of the Vietnamese nation.

According to the Permanent Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, joining the jubilant atmosphere of the whole country celebrating the 80th anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam on September 2, the Central Steering Committee for the celebration of major holidays and important historical events of the country in 3 years (2023-2025) organized the opening of the Press Center for the 80th Anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.

The Press Center is the place to organize, direct and guide press activities related to the Anniversary for nearly 1,500 domestic and foreign reporters, editors and reporters; this is also the place to provide information about the Anniversary activities; serve the reporters' work; handle the reporters' requests for press activities. In addition, press information work will contribute significantly to the overall success of the National Day Anniversary on September 2.

Deputy Minister Le Hai Binh affirmed that the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism will create all favorable conditions for domestic and international reporters to report on the Anniversary and proactively and actively provide information from the Organizing Committee, contributing to the successful organization of the Anniversary according to the set goals, while ensuring the safety and security of the ceremony.
