Opening of the photo exhibition “80 years – Can Tho proudly develops and reaches far”

On the morning of August 27, at Can Tho City Museum, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Can Tho City opened the photo exhibition "80 years - Can Tho proudly develops and reaches far" and displayed the theme "Flowers of the land" through the collection of Southern ceramics.

Visitors at the exhibition

The exhibition is a practical activity to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the successful August Revolution (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2025) and the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025). The exhibition includes 80 photos that provide an overview of how, under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam and President Ho Chi Minh, the Vietnamese people rose up to break the shackles of colonialism, overthrow the feudal regime, and establish a revolutionary government nationwide.

According to Mr. Nguyen Minh Tuan, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Can Tho City, the exhibition aims to propagate and educate the tradition of patriotism, the spirit of the August Revolution; at the same time, encourage and promote the strength of the great national unity bloc, maintain faith in the Party, and accompany the country into the era of national development. In addition, the exhibition introduces to visitors some images of the army and people of Can Tho in the two resistance wars against foreign invaders to protect the achievements of the revolution; outstanding achievements in the construction and development of Can Tho City.

Southern pottery exhibition space

In the “Flowers of the Earth” Thematic Exhibition space, Can Tho City Museum cooperates with organizations and individuals to introduce to visitors more than 200 documentary photos and ancient ceramic artifacts in the South. The ceramic artifacts are diverse in form, suitable for daily life needs, and are valuable works of art. The thematic exhibition will last until December 1, 2025.

In addition, to meet the needs of visitors to visit, enjoy, exchange and learn, in the premises of Can Tho City Museum, there is also a space to display Southern pottery by a number of collectors in Can Tho, with more than 80 artifacts of household pottery collections, decorative garden pottery... which will serve visitors until August 31.
