Opening of Indian Film Festival in Son La

On the evening of June 13, at the Son La Provincial Cinema Cultural Center, the Son La Provincial People's Committee coordinated with the Embassy of the Republic of India in Vietnam to organize the opening ceremony of the Indian Film Festival.

The opening ceremony was attended by Dr. Monica Sharma, Director of the Swami Vivekananda Cultural Center, Ambassador of the Republic of India to Vietnam; leaders of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism; soldiers of the provincial armed forces and a large number of people and students in the city.

The Indian Film Festival takes place from June 13 to 15, screening four famous Indian films for free, including: “Roar of Freedom”, “Live Only Once”, “English, My Language” and “Wrestler”. These are attractive films, recognized by global audiences, with profound content, recreating the history of India in 1920, depicting friendship, the journey of self -discovery , self-esteem, the value of living life to the fullest, talking about the issue of empowerment, breaking stereotypes, social norms, gender equality, etc.

Each film has Vietnamese and English subtitles, representing many typical nuances of Indian cinema, suitable for many ages of viewers, promising to bring a rich cinematic experience to Son La audiences.

The event is a meaningful cultural activity, marking an important milestone in the province's foreign affairs. The film festival contributes to enhancing cultural exchanges between Son La province and India, expanding opportunities for international cooperation. The screening of high-quality Indian films will help introduce the image, culture and people of Son La to the Indian Embassy, thereby promoting cooperation activities in many fields, especially tourism, towards sustainable development. The film festival is expected to be a bridge, further tightening the friendly relationship between the two sides.

Immediately after the opening, the audience watched and enjoyed the movie "Roar of Freedom". The remaining 3 movies will continue to be shown to serve the audience with the following schedule: "Live Only Once" from 2:00 p.m. on June 14; "English, My Voice" from 8:00 p.m. on June 14; "Wrestler" at 8:00 a.m. on June 15.
