The 4NE1 humanoid robot produced by Neura Robotics (Germany) will be brought by Hyundai to shipyards to perform welding and assembly tasks. Surprisingly, despite owning Boston Dynamics, Hyundai still chose to cooperate with Neura instead of using internal technology.
4NE1 is under 1.8 meters tall, weighs 80 kg, is equipped with force sensors, 3D vision, multi-layered artificial intelligence and the ability to change hands depending on the task. This robot can automatically respond to humans, sense collisions and adapt to the harsh working environment of the shipbuilding industry.
HD Hyundai Samho will provide a physical workshop for robot testing, while HD Hyundai Robotics will support performance monitoring and system integration. The event, announced at the Automatica 2025 exhibition in Munich, underscores the importance of robots in heavy industry. Both Hyundai and Neura aim to increase efficiency, reduce labor risks and address the shortage of skilled workers.
Hyundai plans to officially deploy humanoid robots by 2027 as part of its smart shipyard strategy. Dear readers, please watch more videos : AI Trash Cleaning | Hanoi 18:00
