Today (August 1), Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy has just announced the list of candidates who do not meet the threshold requirements for extra points in the 2025 admissions.
Accordingly, on July 31, the Admissions Council of Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy officially received full data on additional international certificates on the system of the Ministry of Education and Training. Through inspection, the school discovered that some candidates did not meet the requirements for the threshold to be awarded points.
Specifically, there are 315 candidates who do not meet the threshold requirements for additional points in the 2025 entrance exam. These cases have IELTS certificates below 6.0 or other certificates that do not comply with the school's regulations.
266 candidates need to provide proof to get extra points
Also today, Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy announced the verification of international certificates submitted in 2025 on the Ministry of Education and Training system. Accordingly, 266 candidates need to provide evidence to verify international certificates. These cases have international language certificates and SAT results that meet the prescribed threshold to receive points according to the school's method 2.
Accordingly, on July 31, the Admissions Council of Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy officially received full data on additional international certificates on the system of the Ministry of Education and Training. To ensure fairness and transparency for candidates, candidates whose names are on the list here are requested to provide information for the school to authenticate their certificates in one of three ways: directly submit a certified copy of the international certificate to the school; submit a certified copy of the international certificate by post (priority delivery); provide account information and login information of candidates when taking the IELTS/TOEFL iBT/SAT certificate exam.

Time to receive is from August 1 to August 4, the link will automatically lock at 5:00 p.m. on August 4. The school will not process applications received after 5:00 p.m. on August 4.
In the announcement, Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy emphasized that candidates must provide complete and accurate evidence so that the Admissions Council has a basis for calculating additional points. Candidates must be responsible for the authenticity of their evidence. In case candidates do not provide complete evidence according to the announced requirements, they will not be considered for additional points in the admission score. Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy Admissions Council will not resolve complaints if candidates do not comply with the announced regulations.
Previously, the Admissions Council of Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy has just announced the list of candidates submitting copies of international English certificates (IELTS/TOEFL iBT), SAT results used for admission to full-time university programs in 2025, applied to method 2 combining the results of the 2025 high school graduation exam with international certificates. According to this method, candidates with international certificates will be awarded points according to the school's regulations and applied to all training majors. The threshold for points awarded is IELTS Academic 6.0 or higher, TOEFL iBT 80 or higher. Candidates with international SAT (Scholastic Aptitude Test) certificates from 1,340 points or higher. According to the list announced on July 19, up to 1,744 candidates submitted copies of international language certificates and SAT results.
Speaking further with Thanh Nien Newspaper reporters, Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Khoi, Head of Training Department of Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy, said that in addition to the list of 1,744 candidates who submitted international certificates directly to the school to receive additional points for admission method 2, there are currently 266 candidates who have registered for admission to the school on the Ministry of Education and Training's system using this method. However, 266 candidates downloaded their certificates on the Ministry of Education and Training's system, but the certificates currently do not have enough information to verify. Therefore, the school informed the candidates to provide complete and accurate evidence so that the admissions council has a basis for calculating additional points.
In 2025, Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy will enroll students according to 4 methods. Method 1 is to consider the results of the 2025 high school graduation exam; Method 2 is to combine the results of the 2025 high school graduation exam with international certificates; Method 3 is to consider direct admission according to the regulations of the Admission Regulations (Article 8); Method 4 is specifically for the group of candidates preparing for university. The school enrolls 2,576 students, of which the medical faculty recruits 420 students, the dental-maxillofacial faculty recruits 126 students, and the pharmacy faculty recruits 560 students. On July 14, the school announced the list of the first 13 candidates eligible to be admitted to university according to method 3 of direct admission according to the regulations of the Admission Regulations (Article 8).
