According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, from 7:00 p.m. on July 31 to 3:00 a.m. on August 1, the Northern region had scattered showers and thunderstorms; mountainous and midland areas had moderate rain, heavy rain, and locally very heavy rain.

It is forecasted that today (August 1), the mountainous and midland areas of the North will continue to have moderate rain, heavy rain, and some places will have very heavy rain. Total rainfall is 15-40mm, some places over 90mm. Warning of heavy rain intensity over 80mm/3 hours. From tonight, heavy rain in the mountainous and midland areas of the North will gradually decrease.

Other areas of the North and Thanh Hoa have scattered showers and thunderstorms with common rainfall of 10-30mm, locally over 70mm.

The Meteorological Agency warns that heavy rains may cause flooding in low-lying areas, urban areas, and industrial zones; flash floods in small rivers and streams; and landslides on steep slopes. Thunderstorms may also cause tornadoes, lightning, hail, and strong gusts of wind.

At sea: Day and night of August 1, the North and Central East Sea (including Hoang Sa special zone) and the sea from Gia Lai to Lam Dong will have strong winds of level 6, gusting to level 7-8. Rough seas, waves 2-4m high.

Northern Gulf of Tonkin, northern sea area of the North East Sea, sea area from Ca Mau to An Giang and Gulf of Thailand have scattered showers and thunderstorms. During thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes and strong gusts of wind level 7-8.

Forecast for the day and night of August 2, the North and Central East Sea (including Hoang Sa special zone) will have strong southwest winds of level 6, gusting to level 7-8. The sea from Gia Lai to Khanh Hoa will have strong southwest winds of level 5, sometimes level 6, gusting to level 7. Waves will be 2-4m high. Rough seas.

Risk level of natural disasters due to strong winds at sea: Level 2. All vessels operating in the above areas are at high risk of being affected by tornadoes, strong winds and large waves.
