
Attending the event were Ms. Pham Thi Nham - Deputy Director of Lam Dong Department of Science and Technology; Prof. Dr. Duong Tan Nhut - Deputy Director of the Institute of Life Sciences (formerly the Tay Nguyen Institute of Scientific Research), the Board of Directors of Da Lat University, experts and scientists from Vietnam and Korea, along with lecturers and students of Da Lat University.
The workshop is an event marking a new step forward in research and development cooperation in the field of biotechnology between universities, scientific organizations and domestic and foreign enterprises.

Over the past 5 years, the cooperative relationship between Chuncheon City, Kangwon National University - Korea with Da Lat, Lam Dong and Da Lat University has made many remarkable developments. From academic exchanges, research cooperation, knowledge transfer, to training programs and human resource development, we have together built the foundation for an innovative ecosystem based on local advantages, rare medicinal resources, rich biodiversity and the spirit of green technology development.

In his welcoming speech, Dr. Nguyen Van Ngoc - Vice Rector of Dalat University emphasized: This conference continues to be a bridge to promote new research and development programs, support start-up incubation and commercialization of modern biotechnology solutions, contributing to enhancing Lam Dong's position on the science and technology map.

The cooperation and support of Kangwon National University, Korea and Chuncheon City is not only about knowledge exchange, strategic partnership, and vision leadership, but also about joining hands to create a sustainable future for the community.

The workshop opened a new step for scientific cooperation between units, creating many opportunities for connection in research, training, human resource development and building an international bio-economic ecosystem associated with Lam Dong locality, promoting plant resources and medicinal plants, gradually affirming the position of the biotechnology industry as a pillar to promote green and sustainable economic development for Da Lat, Lam Dong in particular and the world in general.

At the workshop, 6 papers were presented, which were experiences drawn from practical experience, knowledge containing high scientific content. Specifically, the papers: The development process of the Korean bio-industry and international cooperation orientation (Dr. Kwon Tae Hyung - Korea); Traditional use of medicinal plants by ethnic communities in the Central Highlands of Vietnam (Dr. Nguyen Thi Hoa - Vietnam National Institute of Medicinal Materials); Evaluation of biological activities of Kadsura coccinea and Oxalis corniculata extracts from Vietnam (Dr. Han Joon Hee - Korea); Chemical composition and biological activities of essential oils of endemic species in Vietnam (Dr. Hoang Thi Binh - Dalat University); Mentha arvensis essential oil has anti-inflammatory and anti-atopic dermatitis effects through inhibition of the ERK/NF-κB signaling pathway (Dr. Kim So-Yeon - Korea); Proposal for the future of bio-industry in Lam Dong province, Vietnam (Dr. Kim Songmun - Korea).

After each presentation, a lively discussion took place between Vietnamese and Korean scientists, clarifying many issues about the medicinal values and applications of plants and medicinal herbs, creating a truly academic atmosphere.

On this occasion, experts and scientists from Korea made a field trip to visit and survey companies and biological farms in Lam Dong to clarify the issues raised at the workshop.
