Delegates attended the workshop on the historical and contemporary value of the August Revolution.

Speaking at the workshop, Major General, Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Huy Hoang emphasized that the success of the August Revolution in 1945 was a great leap forward in the historical process of the nation, smashing the domination of Japanese fascists and French colonialists, abolishing the thousand-year feudal regime, bringing the Vietnamese nation into a new era - the era of national independence associated with socialism.

Vietnam transformed from a semi-feudal colony into an independent, free and democratic country. The Communist Party of Vietnam became the ruling party.

Major General, Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Huy Hoang, Deputy Director of the Academy of Politics, delivered a speech directing the workshop.

The report introducing the conference presented by Colonel, Dr. Phung Manh Cuong continued to affirm: The victory of the August Revolution encouraged the national liberation movement in countries oppressed and dominated by imperialism and colonialism; affirmed that in the conditions of the proletarian revolutionary trend, the revolution led by a party of the working class could not only succeed in an underdeveloped capitalist country, the weakest link of imperialism, but could also succeed in a backward semi-feudal colonial country, to lead the entire nation to follow the path of socialism.

At the workshop, scientists and researchers focused on analyzing and affirming the value and stature of the August Revolution in 1945; the role of the Communist Party of Vietnam and President Ho Chi Minh in leading the August Revolution; discussing strategic issues, tactics, opportunities, lessons on revolutionary lines, revolutionary forces, revolutionary violence, armed uprising and revolutionary war, and the role of the Viet Minh Front in the August Revolution.

At the same time, clarify the application and creative development of lessons learned from the August Revolution in the revolutionary cause of the nation and the issues arising in the cause of building and defending the Vietnamese Fatherland today; criticize incorrect and incomplete viewpoints and perceptions; resolutely fight against erroneous and hostile viewpoints and ideologies that deny the historical and realistic value of the August Revolution.
