Conference of the Prime Minister with Vietnamese representative agencies abroad on promoting economic diplomacy

On the afternoon of July 22, at the Government Headquarters, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh chaired the Prime Minister's Conference with Vietnamese representative agencies abroad on promoting economic diplomacy to contribute to realizing the economic growth target for the last 6 months of 2025, creating momentum for double-digit growth in the next period.

Comrade Hoang Gia Long, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee chaired the conference at the Tuyen Quang province bridge. Attending the conference were leaders of the provincial departments and branches. The conference was organized in person and online with over 90 Vietnamese representative agencies abroad and the People's Committees of provinces and centrally-run cities.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs , in the first 6 months of 2025, economic diplomacy has been implemented systematically and effectively, making substantial contributions to socio-economic development. In the foreign affairs activities of key leaders of the Party and State, economic diplomacy has become the focus, bringing specific and substantial results with more than 220 cooperation agreements signed.

However, economic diplomacy still has limitations such as: Not taking full and effective advantage of upgrading and upgrading relations with partners; economic cooperation with some strategic areas is not commensurate with the cooperation framework; research, forecasting and consulting work in some cases is not proactive and does not keep up with developments...

At the conference, delegates discussed, assessed the situation and proposed breakthrough solutions to promote trade and investment cooperation to accelerate investment attraction in Vietnam, expand import and export markets and increase trade turnover; promote technology transfer...

Concluding the conference, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh emphasized that in the first 6 months of the year, foreign affairs work had bright spots, and these results were achieved thanks to the very important contributions of Vietnamese representative agencies abroad.

To achieve the double-digit growth target, the Prime Minister requested ministries, sectors and localities to proactively connect with regional and global economies; promote the signing of free trade agreements with markets around the world.

The Prime Minister noted that localities and enterprises should promote connections with representative agencies abroad, focus on developing, improving quality, and exporting competitive and strong products, items that the world needs, and specialty products and items that meet development requirements...
