At the Conference, delegates listened to the Summary Report of the patriotic emulation movement and commendation work for the period 2020 - 2025; directions and tasks of emulation and commendation work for the period 2025 - 2030. Accordingly, in the period 2020 - 2025, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism will constantly strive to excellently complete its professional tasks. The organization and implementation of emulation movements have received positive responses from all civil servants, public employees and workers. Through the emulation movement associated with the implementation of "Studying and following the ideology, morality and style of Ho Chi Minh", it has made an important contribution to the successful implementation of targets and tasks.
The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of the province advises the Provincial People's Committee to effectively implement the State management of culture, sports, tourism and family. Implement projects under the national target program on schedule and ensure quality. Cultural and artistic activities are organized to meet the spiritual needs of the people and serve the political tasks of the locality.
The tourism - service sector has achieved many outstanding results, fully exploiting the local tourism potential. The tourism service business network in the province is increasingly developing. Tourism products are increasingly diverse with product lines based on Lai Chau's potential strengths. Up to now, 20 tourist destinations have been recognized as provincial-level tourist destinations and 01 tourist destination has received the ASEAN community tourism award. In the period of 2020 - 2024, the whole province will welcome and serve 3,877,000 visitors (of which: international visitors are 55,200 visitors), with an average growth rate of 30.3%/year.
The movement of physical education and sports for all has developed with many diverse and rich forms, attracting a large number of people to participate in physical education and sports. The whole province currently has 149,469 people who regularly practice sports, accounting for 30.25% of the population; 19,238 sports families, accounting for 18.3% of the total number of families; with 426 clubs and places for physical education and sports. Physical education and sports activities are organized in conjunction with holidays, Tet, important events of the province and especially sports activities associated with tourism such as: paragliding, mountain climbing, marathon ... have contributed significantly to promoting the potential strengths and good traditional cultural values, the hospitality of the people of all ethnic groups in Lai Chau province to domestic and international tourists. Lai Chau's high-performance sports have initially approached and achieved positive results at national competitions, creating a solid foundation for the next stage. From 2020 to the end of 2024, 438 medals of all kinds have been won...
In the period of 2025 - 2030, the provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism will continue to innovate, improve the quality of emulation and commendation work and effectively implement emulation movements launched by the Prime Minister, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and the sector and units. At the same time, 10 specific goals, 8 groups of tasks and key solutions for implementation are set out such as: Striving for over 98% of civil servants, public employees and workers to achieve the title of advanced workers every year; 88% of villages, hamlets and residential areas have cultural houses; 86% of households, 78% of villages, hamlets, neighborhoods and 98% of agencies, units and enterprises to meet cultural standards; the average growth rate of tourist arrivals will reach 10%/year, by 2030 the whole province will welcome over 2.4 million visitors...
In their discussions at the Conference, delegates focused on clarifying a number of contents: Developing high-performance sports in Lai Chau - challenges and solutions; solutions to improve the effectiveness of building and guiding grassroots art troupes, contributing to preserving cultural identity associated with tourism development...
Concluding the Conference, Mr. Tran Manh Hung - Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism commended the achievements of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism in the past time. At the same time, he requested that in the coming time, the sector continue to propagate and thoroughly grasp Ho Chi Minh's thought on patriotic emulation; Directive No. 41-CT/TW dated December 26, 2024 of the Politburo on strengthening the Party's leadership in emulation and reward work in the new situation; strengthen education on patriotic traditions, national pride, solidarity spirit, and self-reliance to continue to raise awareness of Party members, civil servants, public employees, and workers about the position and role of emulation and reward work; continue to effectively implement patriotic emulation movements launched by the Prime Minister. The focus is on the emulation movement "The whole country joins hands to build new rural areas"; the movement "For the poor - leaving no one behind"; “Cadres, civil servants, and public employees compete to practice office culture”… He believes that with the spirit and determination, the advanced models will continue to shine, together with the team of cadres, civil servants, and public employees to spread and arouse emulation movements and aspirations to contribute with the spirit: “Culture is the foundation - Information is the conduit - Sports is the strength - Tourism is the connecting bridge”, contributing to building Lai Chau to be increasingly rich, beautiful, and civilized.
On this occasion, the Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism awarded Certificates of Merit to 1 collective and 16 individuals with outstanding achievements in the Patriotic Emulation Movement for the period 2020 - 2025.
The conference launched the Emulation Movement for the period 2025 - 2030 with the theme: "Lai Chau Culture, Sports and Tourism Sector: Solidarity, Creativity, Breakthrough, for Sustainable Development".
