In his commemorative speech, Chairman of the Hanoi City Association of Former Youth Volunteers Nguyen Van Dinh reviewed the tradition of the Vietnam Youth Volunteers over the past 75 years. Many generations of Vietnam Youth Volunteers as well as those of the capital Hanoi have achieved many glorious achievements and outstanding feats in the two long resistance wars and in the cause of building and defending the Fatherland, creating a heroic tradition and becoming a legend of the Vietnam Youth Volunteers.

Mr. Nguyen Van Dinh said that after 20 years of establishment and development, the Hanoi City Association of Former Youth Volunteers now has more than 40,000 cadres and members. Promoting its role, functions and tasks, the Association gathers and unites cadres and members of former Youth Volunteers; advises the government and relevant agencies on the regimes and policies of the Party and State for the Youth Volunteers. The Association at all levels also actively responds to and participates very effectively in the policies and guidelines of the Party and the government.
The Chairman of the Hanoi City Association of Former Youth Volunteers also expressed his hope that Hanoi city leaders would pay attention to building more historical structures, symbolizing gratitude and deep appreciation for the Youth Volunteers who sacrificed for the Fatherland; as a placeto educate the revolutionary tradition for the young generation today and tomorrow.

Speaking at the ceremony, Vice President of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Veterans Association Than Duc Nam emphasized the correct policy of the Politburo when implementing a two-level local government; requested the Hanoi Veterans Association to proactively coordinate with relevant departments and branches to report to the Party Committee and authorities to soon stabilize the organizational structure, staff and maintain the activities of the Veterans Association associated with the two-level local government model.
In particular, the Association encourages cadres and members to carry out the campaign "Former Youth Volunteers set good examples, study and follow Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and lifestyle"; pay attention to the movement "For comradely love" to care for and help poor former Youth Volunteers and those in especially difficult circumstances, making practical contributions to the implementation of the Party and State's social security policies.
At the ceremony, on behalf of the city's leaders, Chairman of the City Party Committee's Inspection Committee Hoang Trong Quyet presented congratulatory flowers and presented a banner from the Hanoi City Party Committee Executive Committee to the Hanoi City Veterans Association, with the words: "Promoting heroic traditions, overcoming difficulties, responsibility, and loyalty, joining hands to build a civilized, modern, and cultural capital."
