Ho Chi Minh City International Tourism Fair and the unprecedented '3 in 1' connection

On the morning of September 4, at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center (SECC), the opening ceremony of three major international events: the 19th Ho Chi Minh City International Tourism Fair (ITE HCMC), the 2025 Export Forum and the "Connecting international supply chains" event officially took place in a solemn and expectant atmosphere.

The event, themed "Green Connection - Sustainable Development", marks the first time that the three key streams of tourism, trade and international integration have converged in a unified series of events, creating a total boost for the economy .

The event attracted the participation of a series of high-ranking leaders of the Party and State, along with nearly 700 domestic and international delegates. Speaking at the opening ceremony, Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Nguyen Van Dung emphasized that the simultaneous organization of three events is "a symbol of harmony in development strategy and vision", demonstrating the city's aspirations to rise.

He also reviewed impressive figures affirming Ho Chi Minh City's position as an economic locomotive after expanding its administrative boundaries: contributing 22.3% of the country's GRDP, accounting for 22.8% of total import-export turnover and 25% of national tourism revenue.

ITE HCMC 2025 with the theme "Sustainable Tourism - Immersive Experience" gathers more than 520 units, 250 high-end international buyers from 32 countries and is expected to attract 30,000 visitors. The event is not only a place for exhibition and promotion but also a forum for in-depth discussions on digital transformation, green transformation and startups in tourism.

At the same time, the Export and Supply Chain Connection Forum plays the role of a prestigious trade bridge, connecting more than 400 Vietnamese enterprises with 300 purchasing delegations from 60 countries, opening up opportunities for more than 12,000 products from agricultural products to supporting industrial goods to enter the global value chain.

A special highlight this year is Ho Chi Minh City hosting the 12th General Assembly of the Tourism Promotion Organization for Global Cities (TPO). This coincidence is not accidental but a strategic arrangement, turning Ho Chi Minh City into a global hotspot for MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, Exhibitions) tourism and international trade during the peak week, thereby raising the city's position on the international map.

This year's event has the theme "Green Connection - Sustainable Development" combining 3 in 1: tourism, trade and international integration.

It can be seen that this series of events is not simply a series of normal promotional activities. It is a strong message about a dynamic, creative and proactively integrated Vietnam. The harmonious coordination between the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City has created an exemplary model of inter-sectoral cooperation, turning "Green Connection" from a slogan into concrete action, opening a new chapter for the sustainable development of Vietnam's tourism and trade.
