If you take Sa Pa ward ( Lao Cai province) as the starting point, going from Sa Pa to Ta Van commune (Lao Cai province), looking to the right, there is a small village interspersed with brilliant golden terraced fields, that is Y Linh Ho.
Y Linh Ho village has over 250 households, mainly Mong people. According to the elders here, the origin of the name Y Linh Ho: In the past, this was a Dao village opened by a man named "Ly Linh Ho". Later, the Dao people moved to other places, the Mong people settled there, still kept the name and transcribed it as Y Linh Ho as a way to show gratitude to the ancients.
Y Linh Ho is entering the most beautiful season of the year with golden terraced fields, a masterpiece of art carved into nature by the hands of the local people.
Y Linh Lake in the ripe rice season is as beautiful as a picture.
In Y Linh Ho, there are many traditional houses typical of the Mong people surrounded by bamboo forests and winding terraced fields.
The terraced rice harvest season has arrived, and from early morning, people have gone to the fields to harvest rice. For generations, households in the village have maintained the tradition of exchanging harvest labor as a bond that binds the community. The terrain in Y Linh Ho is quite difficult, the traffic is not convenient, so the mechanization in agricultural production is slower than in other localities. The Mong people still maintain traditional farming and harvesting methods. After harvesting, the rice will be beaten against a wooden barrel to remove the grains, then the rice will be collected in bags and transported home. Simple life in a traditional Mong house.
