According to the General Statistics Office, the number of international visitors to Vietnam in August reached 1.68 million, up 16.5% over the same period last year. In the first 8 months of 2025, the total number of international visitors reached nearly 14 million, up 21.7% over the same period in 2024.

The number of visitors in August also recorded an increase of 7.8% compared to the previous month. This is a positive increase even though it is still the low season for international tourism .
Russia continues to be the market with the highest growth rate (+164.9%). Southeast Asian markets have grown well: Philippines (+93.4%), Cambodia (+50.7%), Laos (+33.1%), Indonesia (+13.1%), Malaysia (+9.8%), Singapore (+9.4%), Thailand (+8.1%).
European markets continued to grow strongly in the first 8 months of the year. Most markets grew positively, including major markets such as the UK (+21.8%), France (+22.6%), Germany (+17.9%). In addition, there were Italy (+22.6%), Spain (+8.2%), Denmark (+13.9%), Sweden (+17.3%), Norway (+20.0%)...

Thus, there are only 4 months left for Vietnam to achieve the goal of welcoming 25 million international visitors in 2025. At the 2025 National Travel Conference organized by the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism and the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in Ho Chi Minh City on September 5, businesses also proposed many solutions to increase international visitor attraction in the coming time such as: developing diverse tourism products, building tourism destination brands; thereby, linking to form tourism stimulus packages; connecting aviation, tourism transportation...
