At Dang Bo block (Tra My commune), the house of Mr. Ho Van Xoan and Mrs. Ho Thi Xuan (both war invalids) was completely repaired in June 2025. This is a house of gratitude that was supported 15 years ago and had deteriorated.

In 2025, Mr. Xoan was considered for support of 30 million VND to repair the house. Along with the savings, he and his wife added paint to the walls, tiled the house, re-roofed the house, and installed ceiling panels to make the house cooler in the hot season.

Mrs. Xuan said: “My husband and I stay home and garden all year round. Our war invalids’ salaries have increased over the years, so our life is more leisurely than before. Our children are all grown up and working now. The government’s policies to care for people with meritorious services are very practical and meaningful.”

Quang Nam Province (old) issued a resolution to support households whose temporary and dilapidated houses were demolished by borrowing capital entrusted to them through the Social Policy Bank to add to the temporary house demolition. This policy has accompanied and supported many households, including those who have contributed to building houses.

For example, in Viet An commune, Ms. Vo Thi Tien is a war invalid living alone, so when she received 30 million VND in support to repair her house, she borrowed an additional 20 million VND and with the help of working days from local youth and militia, Ms. Tien's house was repaired before July 27.

Or like the family of Mr. Nguyen Mau Dich, a relative of a martyr (Phu Coc Tay village, Viet An commune) who was supported with 60 million VND to build a new house. However, due to difficult circumstances, he did not dare to rebuild the house for fear of not having enough funds. After considering Mr. Dich's family circumstances, Hiep Duc Social Policy Bank supported him with the procedures and borrowed an additional 40 million VND from the temporary house demolition fund. Up to now, the house has been completed, helping his family have a stable place to live.

In the communes of Quang Nam province (old), the total number of houses for meritorious people to be implemented in the period of 2023 - 2025 is 1,911 houses according to Decision No. 21/2024/QD-TTg and Resolution No. 13/2023/NQ-HDND of the People's Council of Quang Nam province.

To date, all houses of meritorious people have been supported, repaired or rebuilt. The military, police and youth forces have recently increased support for localities to eliminate temporary houses for people, with priority given to houses for meritorious people, single people and those in extremely difficult circumstances.

The good news is that the progress of supporting the repair and construction of new houses for people with meritorious services has been completed, helping people with meritorious services feel secure living in new houses.
