Gia Lai After the 0-0 draw against Quang Nam in round 10 on the evening of February 23, coach Vu Tien Thanh said that HAGL is making good progress and will overcome difficulties to stay in the V-League.

"HAGL controlled the game well, had many opportunities but no goals. I regret that HAGL had a good match. Because we are at the bottom of the table, the players are in a hurry," Mr. Thanh said after the match at Pleiku Stadium. "We have to be persistent, organize well, and practice well. I myself have never been worried. I know it is difficult but we will overcome it."

This is the second match coach Vu Tien Thanh has led HAGL, after replacing Kiatisuk. In the previous match, his team lost 0-1 to Ha Tinh .

HAGL is expected to have many player additions after round 10. The names mentioned are goalkeeper Patrick Le Giang, center back Minh Tung, defender Sam Ngoc Duc and striker Ngoc Long of Ho Chi Minh City. However, Mr. Thanh refused to confirm. "HAGL will definitely strengthen a few positions, but I cannot reveal it yet. When I return to HAGL, I have to use players trained by HAGL. Don't expect to add this player or that player in the middle of the season because of legal issues. We have to persevere with the current force and the proof is that today there are many young players being used," he said.

HAGL's recent string of poor results is partly due to their lack of players. Center back Martin Dzilah and striker Dinh Thanh Binh are injured for the long term. Minh Vuong is also out for many matches. Tuan Anh is unable to play this round and goalkeeper Phan Dinh Vu Hai left the field on a stretcher at the beginning of the second half. "HAGL's players are thin so I have to make calculations. For example, Dung Quang Nho is not a center back but has to be used. When a player is out of shape during the match, it is difficult to find a replacement," Mr. Thanh lamented.

In the next match, HAGL will play away against Khanh Hoa, the team that is ranked above them by just one point. Coach Vu Tien Thanh said that for HAGL, every match is difficult and must be overcome step by step. "We clearly determined that we must stay in the league. Although it is difficult, we must overcome it. The players are all doing well, very eager and love the HAGL brand. I think we will overcome the difficulties. In the relegation race, the team that is better physically prepared will succeed. In the last two matches, in addition to good control, HAGL's physical strength has also improved, the players ran until the last minutes. That is a positive signal."
