“The 6-0 score is what we wanted. However, there were still mistakes such as not really coordinated attacks, inaccurate passes. I asked the players to close in better, especially when the opponent deployed short balls," said coach Mai Duc Chung after the 6-0 victory over UAE.
The veteran coach also shared more about captain Huynh Nhu: "Nhu is old and is still an important spiritual support. I am very happy that the young players also show spirit and desire. We are ready to create opportunities for the young people."
Commenting on the next opponent, coach Mai Duc Chung said: "Guam has good physical strength. We need to coordinate quickly and play short balls to overcome their strength."

Despite the heavy defeat, UAE coach Vera Pauw was still proud of his players' spirit: "Nobody wanted to get a result like this, but I'm proud of the players because they fought until the end. They gave everything they could."
Ms. Vera also acknowledged the difference in skill level: “Vietnam is a professional team, having participated in the World Cup. Meanwhile, the UAE women's football team had to almost rebuild from scratch after the pandemic. We have re-established the National Championship, organized youth tournaments and promoted community football. The goal is to develop a solid force of local players."
Praising the playing style of the Vietnamese women's team, Ms. Vera added: "I was impressed with their ability to flexibly switch positions, their speed and the diversity in their playing style. But I was not disappointed, because the UAE players played with all their efforts. That's sport , the important thing is to continue to believe in yourself."
