Neighbors went to a housewarming party, young man sneaked into the house and stole a whole tael of gold

(Dan Tri) - Knowing that his neighbor's family was going to a housewarming party, a young man in Dak Lak broke into the house and stole a gold bar.

On February 8, Cu Kuin District Police, Dak Lak Province confirmed the arrest of Gian Viet Hoang (19 years old), residing in Ea Hu Commune, Cu Kuin District, for breaking into and stealing property from a resident's house.

According to information from the investigation agency, at around 6:00 p.m. on December 8, 2024, Hoang discovered that his neighbor's family, Mrs. S. (53 years old), was attending a housewarming party. Taking this opportunity, Hoang had the intention of stealing property.

To commit the act, Hoang went to the back window of Mrs. S.'s house, pulled the door open and sneaked inside. Here, Hoang rummaged through Mrs. S.'s bedroom and took 6 rings, totaling one tael of gold.

After stealing the gold, Hoang took the four rings to a gold shop in Buon Ma Thuot City to sell, earning nearly 60 million VND. Hoang used this money to buy an expensive phone and buy 3 more taels of gold to hide at home.

Through the investigation and evidence collection process, the police identified Gian Viet Hoang as the person who committed the above theft.
