On the morning of March 24, Phu Quoc City Medical Center, Kien Giang Province, said that at around 6:20 p.m. on March 23, the unit received pregnant woman HTM (39 years old, from Ca Mau, temporarily residing in Cua Duong commune, Phu Quoc city) who was hospitalized in a state of confusion due to excessive bleeding.

Many people wait to be tested to donate blood to save the mother.

Doctors at Phu Quoc City Medical Center examined and diagnosed hemorrhagic shock due to placenta previa (21 weeks pregnant). After that, the doctor performed an emergency surgery in the hope of saving the mother's life.

Due to excessive blood loss, the mother M had a blood clotting disorder. At the same time, the mother M's blood type is O+, so it is difficult to find a compatible person.

After Phu Quoc residents came to donate blood, the doctor promptly transfused blood to save the pregnant woman. However, the pregnant woman M is still in the intensive care unit in critical condition.

"The doctor continued to give blood transfusions and directed the patient to a higher level for timely treatment," said a doctor at Phu Quoc City Medical Center.

Previously, at around 10:00 p.m. on March 23, on the social network Facebook named Phu Quoc, there was a post calling for O+ blood donations to save a pregnant woman M who was experiencing hemorrhage.

After that, about 400 - 500 people living and working in Phu Quoc went to Phu Quoc City Medical Center to get tested and donate blood.

Among them, there were 10 people with similar blood type O+ and donated blood to save the pregnant woman M.

Ms. T, a resident of Phu Quoc, said: "I had my blood tested by a doctor at night. The doctor told anyone who lives nearby to come home and if needed, the doctor will call.

However, I and other people did not go home but sat and waited until the results were out, afraid that if we went home and fell asleep, the doctor would not be able to get the call, and the mother would have to have a lack of blood to transfuse.

According to records, even though it was late at night, Phu Quoc Medical Center was still crowded with people coming to get blood tested.

Everyone wants their blood type to be compatible to save the pregnant woman M.

It is known that the mother M has four children and has undergone two cesarean sections. Her family situation is very difficult.

The husband of the pregnant woman M had previously returned to his hometown to take care of his seriously ill mother and had not yet been able to go to Phu Quoc.
