Vietnam Navy participates in Komodo 2025 multilateral exercise

The Vietnamese Navy delegation participated in the Maritime Security Conference, command and staff exercises at the wharf, live-fire exercises at sea, and cultural and sports exchange activities.

On February 16, the opening ceremony of the Multilateral Naval Exercise Komodo 2025 (MNEK 2025) took place at Benoa Port, Indonesia.

Ship 09 of Brigade 171, Vietnam Navy Region 2 participated in the parade that morning.

In the 5th naval exercise hosted by Indonesia, about 3,000 naval soldiers from 37 countries and a total of 40 warships from 17 countries, including 17 Indonesian warships, were mobilized.

With the goal of an open, inclusive and resilient Indo- Pacific region, MNEK 2025 includes maritime search and rescue exercises, ensuring countries can respond together to contingencies in the region.

The Vietnamese Navy delegation participated in the Maritime Security Conference, command and staff exercises at the wharf, live-fire exercises at sea, and cultural and sports exchange activities.

Indonesian Navy Rear Admiral Yayan Sofiyan said the exercise was held within the framework of humanitarian assistance, contributing to regional and global stability as well as natural disaster management.

The MNEK 2025 event is not only an opportunity for participating countries to improve their combat capabilities but also to promote diplomatic relations and international cooperation.

Within the framework of the exercise, there are also activities: Opening warships to the public, creating opportunities for local people and tourists to learn about modern warships from many countries; Defense exhibition, Engineering Citizen Action Program (ENCAP), 6th International Maritime Security Symposium (MISS).

In addition, there is the Medical Citizens Action Program (MEDCAP), a community health care services program.
