Patients were distributed by age group: 47 cases under 6 months (10.7%); 56 cases 6-8 months (12.7%); 45 cases 9-11 months (10.2%), 110 cases 1-5 years old (24.9%), 74 cases 6-10 years old (16.8%), 109 cases > 10 years old (24.7%).

Hanoi CDC said that the number of measles cases this week is similar to last week and remains high, mainly in people who have not been vaccinated or have not been fully vaccinated, and it is forecasted that cases will continue to be recorded in the coming time.

Last week, Hanoi CDC coordinated with relevant units to monitor the epidemic situation to detect early cases of the disease to organize investigation, containment, and epidemic handling; and train and deploy the plan for the measles vaccination campaign in the city in 2025.

This week, Hanoi CDC continues to monitor the implementation of the measles vaccination campaign for children from 6 to under 9 months old in: Bac Tu Liem, Ba Dinh, Dong Anh, Ha Dong, Tay Ho, Me Linh, Nam Tu Liem, Phu Xuyen, Soc Son.

District, town and city health centers organize measles vaccination campaigns for children from 6 months to under 9 months old according to the direction of the City People's Committee, Department of Health and CDC Hanoi.

Surveillance units detect patients at decentralized medical facilities and in the community to promptly investigate and handle cases and outbreaks, preventing the disease from spreading widely. Take samples for testing of 100% of suspected cases, organize isolation, and thoroughly handle areas with patients and outbreaks.

In addition, the units regularly coordinate between the health and education sectors in monitoring, preventing and handling cases and outbreaks of measles, hand, foot and mouth disease, chickenpox... in schools; coordinate the implementation of vaccination in schools as well as review and propaganda for parents to have their children fully vaccinated according to regulations.

 

According to Plan No. 35/KH-UBND of the Hanoi People's Committee, from February 17, 2025, Hanoi will implement measles vaccination for children from 6 months to under 9 months old. It is expected that about 20,000 children will receive 1 dose of measles vaccine. The vaccine source is provided by the Ministry of Health.
