Hanoi records 112 cases of hand, foot and mouth disease in one week

From the beginning of 2025 to now, Hanoi city has recorded 2,839 cases, a significant increase compared to the same period in 2024 (1,522 cases). During the week, an outbreak of hand, foot and mouth disease was recorded in Trung Van, Nam Tu Liem.

On June 16, the Hanoi Center for Disease Control (CDC) announced that last week (from June 6 to June 13), the city recorded 112 cases of hand, foot and mouth disease in 24 districts, towns and cities, an increase of 9 cases compared to the previous week.

Some units recorded many patients such as: Nam Tu Liem with 18 cases, Cau Giay with 12 cases, Ha Dong with 12 cases, Thanh Xuan with 10 cases and Thanh Oai with 8 cases.

The number of hand, foot and mouth disease cases has decreased, mainly sporadic cases in children under 3 years old (95%), no complicated outbreaks have been recorded.

During the week, a hand, foot and mouth disease outbreak was recorded in Trung Van, Nam Tu Liem with 2 cases of the disease. In 2025, there were 44 outbreaks recorded, with 1 outbreak still active in Nam Tu Liem.

Accumulated from 2025 to present, Hanoi city recorded 2,839 cases of hand, foot and mouth disease, a large increase compared to 1,522 cases in the same period in 2024.

In the coming time, Hanoi CDC will continue to maintain a high vaccination rate for subjects in the expanded immunization program; regularly review vaccination subjects to organize catch-up and catch-up vaccinations. Organize regular vaccination sessions well, ensuring vaccination safety.

Hanoi CDC requires units to closely coordinate to closely monitor the epidemic situation and implement inter-sectoral activities on disease prevention.

Relevant units should step up communication work, provide timely and complete information on the epidemic situation and measures to prevent summer epidemics so that people can proactively implement and coordinate with the government and the health sector in investigating and handling the epidemic./.
