Gen Z – the technology generation, the digital generation. They are young people who are reshaping the way media works, with more stringent requirements for content, speed and multimedia experience.
According to the latest survey by VietnamPlus Online Newspaper (Vietnam News Agency), 83.9% of Gen Z access news via smartphones. They like short videos , vivid images, concise articles, intuitive graphics... Social networks such as Facebook, TikTok, Zalo are taking up most of young people's time, while traditional newspapers and television are gradually losing influence. Faced with the decline in visits from old channels, what should press agencies do to develop new platforms, change the direction of information production, and refresh content to continuously adapt and meet the news needs of young readers?
Faced with new challenges, on June 17, VietnamPlus Electronic Newspaper organized a discussion on “Journalism attracts Gen Z with creative content” for experts, journalists, and technologists to discuss strategies to reach the new generation of readers – those who not only read, but also interact, select, and spread information in their own way.
At the seminar, delegates stated that proactively grasping trends, applying advanced technology, and innovating in content production and distribution to attract diverse readers has become an urgent requirement./.
