Implementing the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training (MOET) on the operating regulations of specialized high schools, Hanoi plans to develop and establish a project to turn Chu Van An High School and Son Tay High School into specialized schools. The information was given at the conference to deploy tasks for the new school year at the secondary school level of the Hanoi Department of Education and Training.

Regarding the above information, a representative of the Department of Education and Training of Son Tay town said that currently in Son Tay town there are few public high schools.

If Son Tay High School becomes a specialized school and does not enroll students in the general system, students will have difficulty finding places to study.

Regarding this content, a representative of the Hanoi Department of Education and Training said: Circular No. 05 of the Ministry of Education and Training on the operating regulations of specialized high schools requires "not to organize non-specialized classes in specialized schools".

Meanwhile, in Hanoi, there are two public high schools with specialized classes: Chu Van An and Son Tay. In accordance with the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training, Hanoi plans to develop and establish a project to turn Chu Van An High School and Son Tay High School into specialized schools. However, this will require time to prepare.

According to the representative of the Hanoi Department of Education and Training, when the two schools above are converted into specialized schools, the general enrollment quota of the two schools as before will no longer exist. The Department will advise the city to establish new public high schools to ensure study places for students.

Currently, Chu Van An and Son Tay High Schools are still enrolling 10th grade students in specialized and general programs.

It is known that Circular No. 05 of the Ministry of Education and Training on the operating regulations of specialized high schools requires "not to organize non-specialized classes in specialized schools", effective from April 15, 2023.

The Circular stipulates: Specialized high schools will not organize non-specialized classes to develop talents in certain subjects on the basis of ensuring comprehensive general education, creating a source of talent training, and meeting the development requirements of the country.

The admission principles are implemented according to the regulations in the Admission Regulations for Secondary and High Schools issued by the Ministry of Education and Training, ensuring the selection of intelligent students who have achieved good results in training and studying at secondary school level and are capable of studying at specialized schools.
