On July 25, the Hanoi Department of Tourism announced a report on the development of tourism in the area. Specifically, in July 2025, international tourists to the city are estimated at 553,19 thousand arrivals, up 25.2% over the same period in 2024. The number of domestic tourists also recorded growth, estimated at 2.25 million arrivals, up 7.1%.
The Department of Tourism's report shows that in the first 7 months of 2025, the capital's tourism industry welcomed a total of 18.36 million visitors, up 11.6% over the same period. Total revenue from tourists in the 7 months is estimated at 73 trillion VND, up 14.5%.

However, the report also showed that the average room occupancy rate of the hotel sector in July 2025 is estimated at 56.94%, down 1.6 percentage points compared to the same period in 2024.
Hanoi currently has 3,761 accommodation establishments with 71,256 rooms, including 85 hotels and apartment complexes rated from 1 to 5 stars. Along with that, the city has 58 establishments providing food, shopping and entertainment services that are recognized as meeting standards for serving tourists.
To achieve the above results, the Department of Tourism has proactively implemented many solutions for product management and development. The unit issued Plan No. 80/KH-SDL dated July 4, 2025 to implement the direction of General Secretary To Lam at the working session with the leaders of Hanoi City on June 16, 2025. At the same time, the Department of Tourism actively implemented promotional activities. Notably, the coordination to support the organization of the "Guangzhou Culture and Tourism Promotion Workshop" and the participation in the 2nd meeting of the Vietnam - Russian Federation Tourism Working Group.
In July 2025, communication activities were promoted with 22 news and propaganda articles. The Department of Tourism also closely coordinated with many press agencies to promote topics such as night economy, digital transformation and experiential tourism through night tours. Regarding training, the Department of Tourism organized a knowledge update course for 48 tour guides.
In August 2025, the capital's tourism industry set out many key tasks. These tasks include continuing to advise on the implementation of the project to innovate the management model, preserve and promote the value of the Huong Son complex (Huong Pagoda), organizing a delegation to introduce Hanoi's culture and tourism at the Osaka Expo, Japan and participating in the ITB India Fair in India.
In addition, the Department of Tourism will coordinate with localities to launch new tourism products such as agricultural tourism, night tourism and golf tourism, while preparing activities to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the successful August Revolution and National Day.
