Winning 6 championships, Vietnam is the best team in the 2025 Southeast Asian Bodybuilding Championship

(NLDO) – 20 Vietnamese athletes simultaneously took home 14 medals, including 6 gold medals, and won first place overall at the Southeast Asian Bodybuilding Championship.

The 19th Southeast Asian Bodybuilding Championship was held in Bangkok, Thailand on August 21, 2025 with the participation of more than 100 athletes from 8 countries in the region. The athletes competed in 7 bodybuilding events and 9 physique events, recording very impressive performances from Vietnamese athletes.

Le Ngoc Thai (middle) won gold medal in bodybuilding in men's 55 kg category

In the first match, two athletes Le Ngoc Thai (HCMC) and Ho Cong Hoai Long ( Dong Nai ) shared the first and third positions in the men's 55kg bodybuilding category. Immediately after, Le Hong Phong (HCMC) and Vo Quang Minh (Tay Ninh) brought home both the gold and silver medals in the men's 60kg bodybuilding category.

Le Hong Phong and Vo Quang Minh share the top two rankings in the men's 60kg bodybuilding category.

Sharing the responsibility of winning the "gold" were Tran Van Khanh (Dong Nai, 70 kg male physique), Nguyen Minh My ( An Giang , 80 kg male physique), Truong Hoang Long (HCMC, over 85 kg male physique) and Chau Nguyen Kha (HCMC, athletic physique up to 1.60 m male height).

Truong Hoang Long (middle) won the gold medal in the men's bodybuilding over 85 kg.

With 4 more runner-up positions (Vo Quang Minh, Nguyen Viet Phu, K'Tuyen, Pham Van Lap) and 4 bronze medals (Ho Cong Hoai Long, Pham Hoai Nam, Nguyen Thanh Thieu, Ha Thi Thanh Trang), the Vietnamese bodybuilding team has added the first place in the men's team and the number 1 position overall at the 2025 Southeast Asian Bodybuilding Championship. The host team Thailand ranked second overall (4 gold medals, 5 silver medals, 2 bronze medals) while the Lao team surprised with the third place overall (2 gold medals, 2 silver medals), ranking above the "traditional" strong teams such as Malaysia, Myanmar, Indonesia...

Vietnam team aims for success at Asian tournament

From August 22 to 24, over 200 athletes from 27 countries will compete in the Asian Bodybuilding Championship, also taking place at the Alexander Hotel in Bangkok, Thailand.

Along with 24 physique categories are 17 bodybuilding categories, including 2 junior male categories, 2 women's championship categories, 1 mixed double, 7 men's championship categories (55 kg, 60 kg, 65 kg, 70 kg, 75 kg, 80 kg, over 85 kg men), 2 age categories 40-49 men, 2 age categories 50-60 men, Master category over 60 men.
