Decreased by more than 1,400 VND/liter, RON95-III gasoline price falls to 23,544 VND

From 3:00 p.m. on May 9, the price of E5 RON92 gasoline decreased by VND1,288/liter; RON95-III gasoline decreased by VND1,411/liter; diesel oil decreased by VND759/liter; kerosene decreased by VND843/liter and fuel oil decreased by VND160/kg.

According to the decision of the Ministry of Industry and Trade - Ministry of Finance, domestic gasoline prices will decrease sharply from 3:00 p.m. today (May 2).

Specifically, E5 RON92 gasoline decreased by VND1,288/liter, down to VND22,623/liter; RON95-III gasoline decreased by VND1,411/liter, the new price is VND23,544/liter. At the same time, diesel oil decreased by VND759, down to VND19,847/liter; kerosene decreased by VND843, down to VND19,701/liter and fuel oil decreased by VND160, down to VND17,503/kg.

Thus, in this management period, all petroleum products have decreased. The current price of E5 RON92 gasoline is 921 VND/liter lower than RON95-III gasoline.

Regarding the price stabilization fund (BOG), the joint ministry decided not to set aside and not to spend money from the Petroleum Price Stabilization Fund for petroleum products.

A representative of the Vietnam National Petroleum Group (Petrolimex) said that as of the time before the price adjustment, the balance of the price stabilization fund (BOG) at the enterprise was 3,077 billion VND, unchanged from the announcement period last week.

In the most recent adjustment (May 2), E5 RON92 gasoline decreased by VND8/liter; diesel oil decreased by VND110 and kerosene decreased by VND142/liter. However, RON95-III gasoline increased by VND40/liter and fuel oil increased by VND255/kg.

According to Decree No. 80/2023/ND-CP amending and supplementing a number of articles of Decree No. 95/2021/ND-CP dated November 1, 2021 and Decree No. 83/2014/ND-CP dated September 3, 2014 of the Government on petroleum trading, the period of petroleum price management will be shortened from 10 days to 7 days, implemented every Thursday.

In case the price management period coincides with a holiday according to regulations, it will be implemented as follows: If Thursday coincides with the first day of the holiday, the petrol price management period will be implemented on the previous Wednesday. If Thursday coincides with the remaining holidays, the petrol price management period will be implemented on the first working day after the holiday./.
