Having just returned to Vietnam for a few days, Ms. Vo Thi Thanh Kieu was invited by her friends to attend the 3rd "I Love Vietnam" Golf Tournament - 2025 organized by Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper on June 28 at Tan Son Nhat Golf Course (HCMC). She accepted the invitation without hesitation, eager to participate in a tournament in her home country of Vietnam even though she had only been familiar with this sport for about 9 months.

"I didn't think that an amateur athlete, who hasn't had much time to get acquainted with golf like me, would be lucky enough to win second place in Group B and the Longest Drive award for women at hole 2B with a drive of 198 yards (about 181 m). It seems that my passion for golf, along with my determination in every shot and every hole, helped me achieve an unexpected result" - this charming female golfer with a bright smile shared.

She also added that golf tournaments combined with charity activities are not easy to find in the US, so playing golf and contributing to the community program of the Lao Dong Newspaper made her feel very happy, along with a little excitement during the competition. "Maybe I will continue to follow the tournament schedule to arrange to return home every year to compete. Being able to compete freely, satisfy my passion and feel like I have done a few small useful things is fun" - female golfer Vo Thi Thanh Kieu emphasized.

Also winning a "double" award was the story of female golfer Tran Thi Nguyet - owner of a security service business, who felt happiest on Vietnamese Family Day when she brought home 2 trophies to give to her first daughter as a birthday present. Having played golf for 3 years and registered for 2 seasons to compete in the "I Love Vietnam" Golf Tournament, Ms. Nguyet said that she had practiced hard for 10 days to confidently participate in the 3rd tournament this year.

"The results did not disappoint my efforts and determination. The trophy for the golfer who ranked first in Group B and the Nearest to the Line technical award for hole 5B are very prestigious for me. I will bring it back as a gift for my daughter and will tell her about the journey to realize my dream. The tournament organized by Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper has so much meaning. I am very touched by the gifts for victims of Agent Orange/dioxin as well as the contributions to scholarships for children of police and military veterans. I hope Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper will maintain this annual tournament for a long time so that we have the opportunity to contribute a small part to charity activities."

Receiving an important award, golfer Doan Ngoc Thao said she was the happiest person at the award ceremony. "Before the opening ceremony, I admired the beautiful trophy set of the tournament and did not think I would receive a trophy from the Organizing Committee for the best result in Group C. I will proudly show off my achievements to my friends and family, but I will keep the story of contributing to the community as my own. Many sporting events today have been combined with social work, but the way the Lao Dong Newspaper does it is very meaningful, practical, and the contributions of the participating athletes have a specific destination, reaching many difficult lives."

Prize Hunter

Winning the Best Gross award with a score of 79 strokes, businessman Tran Quang Vinh added the latest trophy to his massive collection of nearly 200 trophies after nearly 20 years of practicing and competing in amateur golf. Despite his busy work and competition schedule, the head of the Honma golf product distribution business for the Vietnam - Laos - Cambodia market said he was eager to compete in the "I Love Vietnam" Golf Tournament like the first two times it was held.

"VH Golf Company sponsored the product as a hole-in-one award for the "I Love Vietnam" Golf Tournament and I was fascinated by the thoughtful and professional organization of the Lao Dong Newspaper among many tournaments. The high level of expertise, the rich prizes and especially the meaning of the tournament - through a sporting event to promote the implementation of appropriate and practical social programs, not every tournament can do it. VH Golf will continue to accompany the "I Love Vietnam" Golf Tournament for a long time, joining hands to contribute to charity activities..." - award hunting expert Tran Quang Vinh shared.
