Gold price on June 24: SJC gold bars hover near 120 million VND/tael

(Dan Tri) - Domestic prices of SJC gold bars and gold rings are stable. USD prices have slightly decreased after a period at record levels.

Domestic gold price is stable

At the end of the trading session on June 23, the price of SJC gold bars was listed by large enterprises at 117.7-119.7 million VND/tael (buy - sell), unchanged.

The price of plain gold rings listed by businesses is 113.7-116.2 million VND/tael (buy - sell), also remaining the same as before.

Domestic gold prices remained stable while international prices remained below the threshold of 3,400 USD/ounce. Specifically, the world gold price this morning was traded around 3,387 USD/ounce, up 22 USD compared to the previous one. According to the exchange rate excluding taxes and fees, the precious metal is equivalent to 107.3 million VND/tael.

Tensions in the Middle East are also fueling demand for safe havens. “The uncertainty in the Middle East is making investors reluctant to take big bets on both the long and short sides,” said Kelvin Wong, senior market analyst for Asia Pacific at foreign exchange brokerage Oanda.

USD price turns down

The USD-Index - a measure of the greenback's movements against six major currencies - fell 0.07% from the previous day to 98.6 points.

In the foreign exchange market, the central exchange rate at the end of the session on June 23 was listed by the State Bank at 25,028 VND/USD, down 3 VND compared to yesterday and the highest level since the beginning of the year. With a 5% amplitude, the ceiling and floor exchange rates are 26,279 VND/USD and 23,776 VND/USD, respectively.

The USD exchange rate listed by major banks is 25,969-26,279 VND (buy - sell), down 3 VND on the selling side. At joint stock banks, the corresponding exchange rate for both buying and selling is 25,920-26,279 VND (buy - sell), also down 3 VND on the selling side. All banks listed the USD selling price at the ceiling price.

In the free market, the USD price is traded at 26,290-26,390 VND (buy - sell), down 5 VND in both buying and selling directions.
