Gold price today August 31: Continuously setting records, how much profit do buyers make?

Domestic gold prices have continuously set new records this week. Currently, Saigon Jewelry Company - SJC buys gold bars for VND129.1 million and sells for VND130.6 million, an increase of VND4 million compared to last weekend. The difference between buying and selling gold bars at SJC has increased to VND1.5 million instead of only VND1 million/tael as last weekend. Therefore, gold bar buyers only make a profit of VND2.5 million/tael after a week.

Similarly, the 4-9 gold ring at SJC Company also set a new record when buying 122.5 million VND and selling 125 million VND, an increase of 4 million VND after one week. However, the difference in buying and selling prices of gold rings at SJC remained at 2.5 million VND per tael, so buyers after one week made a lower profit than gold bars, only 1.5 million VND. In particular, other companies such as Bao Tin Minh Chau bought gold rings for 122.6 million VND, sold for 125.6 and kept the difference in buying and selling prices at 3 million VND/tael. The world gold price has continuously increased this week, reaching 3,446.5 USD/ounce, 76.2 USD higher than the previous weekend. The precious metal marked its best month since April, after US inflation data reinforced expectations that the Federal Reserve (Fed) may cut interest rates next month.

Kitco News’ survey of 14 analysts on the trend next week still has many opinions that gold will continue to rise. Specifically, 12 people, equivalent to 86%, predict gold prices will increase and the remaining 2 people, equivalent to 14%, predict gold will go sideways. Notably, no analyst thinks gold will decrease.

Similarly, in an online Main Street survey of 179 individual investors, 121 people, or 68%, predicted gold prices would rise. Conversely, 30 people, or 17%, said gold would fall, and the remaining 28 investors, or 16%, said the precious metal would move sideways./.
