Robusta Coffee Price London July 29, 2025

The London Robusta coffee market on July 29, 2025 recorded a simultaneous increase in prices across all major trading terms. The 09/2025 futures contract increased by 100 USD to 3,328 USD/ton, equivalent to an increase of 3.10%.
The following terms also recorded positive increases, including: 11/2025 increased by 86 USD (2.69%) to 3,282 USD/ton, 01/2026 increased by 80 USD (2.52%) to 3,255 USD/ton, 03/2026 increased by 78 USD (2.47%) to 3,231 USD/ton and 05/2026 increased by 77 USD (2.46%) to 3,205 USD/ton.
Despite the increase in output, Robusta export prices in the first half of July remained at a sky-high level, around 4,813 USD/ton, equivalent to 124,800 VND/kg. However, the total export value dropped sharply, to only 208.5 million USD compared to the previous record of 500 million USD.
The biggest problem facing Vietnamese exporters is the 5% VAT. With 85% of coffee being exported, having to pay hundreds of billions of dong in advance and then wait for a refund is creating huge capital pressure. A coffee cooperative director shared that some businesses have considered the option of "deferring payment" for coffee to farmers, promising to pay when the tax is refunded. This is a major challenge that needs to be resolved to maintain the supply chain.
New York Arabica Coffee Price July 29, 2025

Arabica coffee prices on the New York floor on July 29, 2025 recorded a simultaneous increase in all trading terms. The nearest term in September 2025 increased by 3.75 cents, equivalent to 1.26%, to 301.30 cents/lb.
Subsequent maturities such as December 2025 and March 2026 also increased by 3.65 cents (1.26%) and 3.90 cents (1.37%) respectively. Further maturities such as May 2026 and July 2026 also recorded increases of 3.80 cents (1.37%) and 3.90 cents (1.43%) respectively.
In Brazil, the 2025-2026 coffee harvest had reached 84% of the area as of July 23, significantly faster than the same period last year and the five-year average. The Robusta crop was almost complete (96%), while the Arabica crop reached 76%. Abundant supplies from Brazil could impact world prices in the coming period.
BMI (part of Fitch Solutions) forecasts favorable weather conditions for a larger crop, but warns of the impact of the US imposing a 50% import tariff on Brazilian coffee beans from August 1. This has prompted BMI to revise its 2025 average price forecast from $3.40/lb to $3.00/lb. US reciprocal tariffs continue to be a factor influencing global coffee prices this week.

The global coffee market is witnessing remarkable developments, especially in Vietnam – the Robusta powerhouse. Although output is expected to increase to a record level, exporting enterprises are facing significant challenges.
Good news for the Vietnamese coffee industry! A recent survey by Artis Trading and the Coffee Trading Academy predicts that Vietnam's coffee output will explode by 7% in the 2025-2026 crop year, starting in October. Of which, Robusta - Vietnam's "trump card" - is expected to increase by 6.5% and notably, Arabica could increase by up to 23%.
Explaining this growth, experts pointed to farmers' efforts to increase crop care (fertilization, irrigation, pruning, replacing old trees) along with extremely favorable weather conditions and abundant rain. Previously, the US Department of Agriculture (USDA) also gave an optimistic forecast, increasing Vietnam's coffee output from 29 million bags (crop year 2024-2025) to 31 million bags in the next crop year, with Robusta accounting for 30 million bags.
