According to the report of the US Department of Agriculture (USDA), in the 2024-2025 coffee crop year, Brazil leads with a total output of 69.9 million bags, including 48.2 million bags of Arabica and 21.7 million bags of Robusta.

Vietnam followed with about 29 million bags, of which 24.4 million bags were exported, leaving 4.6 million bags for domestic consumption.

In recent years, the increase in coffee prices has encouraged farmers to invest more in garden care, while the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development's replanting project has also contributed to improving productivity.

However, the increase in coffee growing area in the Central Highlands provinces is posing a risk of overproduction if there is no timely adjustment.

Coffee market expert Nguyen Quang Binh warned that 2024 will see strong price fluctuations, benefiting farmers but also pushing many businesses into difficulties.

To develop sustainably, the coffee industry needs to improve the supply chain, enhance product quality and invest in deep processing to adapt to the constant fluctuations of the market.
