Moon bears rescued in Hai Phong are a species in the Red Book.
A captive Asiatic black bear in Hai Phong for nearly 20 years has just been successfully rescued. Asiatic black bears are a rare animal species, listed in the IUCN Red Book.

On June 15, the Vietnam Bear Rescue Center at Bach Ma National Park (Hue) informed about receiving a sun bear rescued by Animals Asia in coordination with the Department of Crop Production and Forestry of Hai Phong City. At the time the rescue team received the bear, it was in stable health and fit for long-distance travel.
