The pickup truck segment in Vietnam recorded 1,878 vehicles sold in May, a slight decrease compared to April. However, the highlight was the growth of Mitsubishi Triton and Isuzu D-Max, in the context of the overall industry decline.
Ford Ranger continues to be the number one choice with 1,254 vehicles delivered to customers, accounting for nearly 67% of the segment's market share. Although sales decreased by 8.2% compared to the previous month, Ranger still faced no obstacles from competitors thanks to its modern design, diverse equipment and ability to meet many purposes from personal to business.

Mitsubishi Triton had a good month of sales with 283 vehicles, up 31% compared to April. With this momentum, Triton consolidated its second position and maintained a safe distance from Hilux.
Isuzu D-Max became the most surprising name with a growth of 140%, reaching 77 vehicles. Although the market share is still small, this increase shows that the company's efforts to renew its image and sales policy are starting to be effective.
Meanwhile, Toyota Hilux recorded the deepest decline in the segment, selling only 264 vehicles, down nearly 25% compared to the previous month. Although it still holds the third place in terms of annual cumulative sales (1,193 vehicles), this decline is causing Hilux to gradually lose its position.

Since the beginning of 2025, Ford Ranger has sold a total of 6,382 vehicles, taking the absolute lead. Mitsubishi Triton reached 1,499 vehicles, Toyota Hilux 1,193 vehicles and Isuzu D-Max is still at the bottom of the list with 224 vehicles.
The Vietnamese pickup truck segment still sees the Ranger's dominance, but competitors are showing signs of returning to the race, promising more exciting competition in the coming months.
