The Sporting Lisbon striker is being eyed by both Arsenal and MU in the summer transfer window of 2025.

Viktor Gyokeres is almost certain to leave the Portuguese club despite Sporting's leadership making a tough move, demanding a fee of up to £80 million.

talkSPORT reporter Alex Crook revealed: "I got a message the other day saying Viktor Gyokeres has told friends and family that he wants to join Arsenal.

MU is also interested and Gyokeres maintains a good relationship with coach Ruben Amorim. However, Arsenal is in the Champions League and has the opportunity to conquer many titles next season.

Arsenal are currently weighing up a move for Gyokeres and Benjamin Sesko. They have opened talks with RB Leipzig, but Gyokeres looks more likely."

Recently, the Swedish striker has been quite angry because Sporting's leadership did not keep their promise, allowing him to leave for a fee of 50 million pounds, plus 8 million pounds in additional fees.

That deal was struck with former Sporting Lisbon director Hugo Viana, but now president Frederico Varandas has turned it around and wants an £80m transfer fee.

The high price makes Arsenal hesitate because Gyokeres is 27 years old and does not have much resale value in the future.
