Renowned leaker Sawyer Galox shared on the X platform that the Galaxy S26 Ultra could feature a battery capacity of 5,500 to 6,000 mAh, a significant step up from the 5,000 mAh capacity found on the Galaxy S25 Ultra. This should give users more screen time.
Galaxy S26 Ultra is Samsung's attempt to beat iPhone 17?
Notably, Samsung’s decision may be influenced by what Apple does. If the iPhone 17 uses silicon batteries, Samsung may adopt the technology for the Galaxy S26 series. The competition between the two tech giants could push both companies to develop more advanced battery technology.
Samsung is trying to balance performance and safety with this new approach. Silicon batteries can hold more energy, but they need to be handled with care. Samsung's cautious approach shows that it is determined not to repeat the mistakes of the past. Samsung has learned from the Galaxy Note 7 fiasco and is now testing silicon batteries thoroughly. Early results seem promising, and we could see the technology appear in the Galaxy S26 series.
Introducing the notable new features of One UI 7
As for the camera, Samsung is likely to reuse the Galaxy S25 Ultra's camera setup for the Galaxy S26 Ultra, which means the 3x telephoto, 5x periscope, and 50MP ultra-wide sensors will likely be retained. Another leak suggests the Galaxy S26 Ultra could feature an enhanced version of the ISOCELL HP2 sensor, which will retain the same 200MP resolution but will have improved imaging capabilities.
Meanwhile, the Galaxy S26 and S26 Plus could switch to a Sony-made sensor for the main camera. The resolution could still be 50 MP, but the ISOCELL sensor could be ditched in favor of a Sony sensor, which is said to be better.
