The 276 billion VND train station in Da Nang has been completed for a long time, people are "eagerly" waiting for it to be exploited.

(NLDO) – After more than 4 years of construction, although completed, Tam Thanh Station in Da Nang City is slow to be put into operation, affecting people's travel.

The Tam Thanh Station Project (Tam Thanh Commune, Phu Ninh District, former Quang Nam Province, now Tay Ho Commune, Da Nang City) started construction in May 2021 and was scheduled to be completed in March 2023. However, to date, the station has not yet been put into operation.

According to the documents, the Tam Thanh Station project belongs to package 8, a project to reinforce weak tunnels, combine opening new stations and renovate the upper-floor architecture of the Vinh - Nha Trang section of the Hanoi - Ho Chi Minh City railway line. The total investment of the project is over 1,799 billion VND.

Tam Thanh station items have been completed but not yet put into operation.

For package 8, the construction items of stations, fence systems, and related access roads have a total cost of about 276 billion VND. The project is invested by Project Management Board 85 - Ministry of Transport (MOT - now the Ministry of Construction ).

According to the reporter, over the past few months, the station's construction has been completed. However, the station is always in a state of "closed doors and bolts", leaving it empty is a huge waste.

Tay Ho Commune proposes to put Tam Thanh Station into operation soon

Mr. Huynh Xuan Chinh, Secretary of the Tay Ho Commune Party Committee, said that the Party Committee has directed the Commune People's Committee to recommend the investor to put Tam Thanh Station into operation soon. According to Mr. Chinh, through inspection, it was shown that the project items have been completed but for unknown reasons the project has not been put into operation.

Mr. Chinh said that Tam Thanh Station was built to replace An My Station. For a long time, local officials and residents were very upset because every time a freight train stopped at An My Station, it often blocked Highway 615, making it impossible for people to travel and having to wait for a long time.

The station's items were built very well but have been left unused for many months, causing waste.

For that reason, the People's Committee of Quang Nam province has repeatedly proposed to relocate to another location and the Ministry of Transport has paid attention to investing in the construction of Tam Thanh Station. "Now that the project has been completed, it needs to be put into operation soon so as not to affect traffic on Highway 615," said Mr. Chinh.

Mr. Vuong Dinh Dong, Deputy Director of Project Management Board 85, said that Tam Thanh Station has been completed for more than 3 months now and has been inspected by the investor, and the Department of Economics and Construction Investment Management has inspected the inspection. Currently, the contractor is repairing the existing problems according to the inspection report (expected to be completed before August 20).

Project Management Board 85 has also sent a document requesting Vietnam Railways Corporation to develop an operation plan. After completing the above two contents, the unit will submit to the Ministry of Construction to issue a decision to open a new station to carry out the handover and put into use, expected in September 2025.

Mr. Le Hai Nam, Head of An My Station, said that the unit has not yet received the handover of the project. However, Vietnam Railways Corporation has planned to test the load of Tam Thanh Station this August to develop management rules and put it into use. "We are the beneficiary unit, and we also really hope that the project will be put into use soon to meet transportation needs as well as solve the problem of traffic congestion on Route 615" - Mr. Nam shared.
